8. Howard the Duck

Yeah, that’s right. I’m going there. Listen, the moment Seth Green showed up at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy voicing Howard the Duck in that brief cameo people have been wondering when Howard will show up again. Sure, he showed up VERY briefly behind Wasp in Avengers: Endgame but that was a whopping 0.3 seconds.

It’s easy to come up with reasons why they might not take the risk with Howard the Duck considering his 1982 movie was the gold standard of what a box office bomb could be. But honestly, that movie had almost nothing to do with the comics. In fact, the only thing good that came from the movie (beyond the poster I have in my bedroom) is the fact that it established one of Howard the Duck’s oldest friends on Earth is Lea Thompson. THAT Lea Thompson. She actually shows up in the modern comics a few times and is an absolute delight.

If you’ve read the comics, you know Howard the Duck has been a private investigator for a good long while and the majority of his clients are involved in the superhuman scene in some way shape, or form similar to how She-Hulk does it.

People LOVE cameos in the MCU so having Howard the Duck have a Disney+ show that could guarantee we get those cameos is exactly what people were hoping from She-Hulk but didn’t get. Imagine how simple it would be to just do a silly show where you work  various characters in for single episodes.

Wong could come back because everyone wants more Wongers in their show. You could get a Skrull coming in played by Robert Downey Jr. in which he’s being sued by Stark Enterprises for use of likeness but can’t transform after an accident. You could slowly bring in some of his awesome supporting cast like super-powered barista Tara Tam and his cyborg cat.

He’s also infamous for crossing over and appearing in other books. He’s been in several books of X-Men comics (yes, he did a road trip with Gambit), Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Gwenpool, She-Hulk, and many more. It’s a no-brainer on why Howard the Duck needs to happen even if it’s animated like What If.

Oh! Speaking of characters that have crossed over with Howard the Duck…
