The Game of Thrones Universe very quickly reminded us all why it's still relevant in 2026 with the long-awaited premiere of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The spinoff officially introduced us to a well-known name within the GoT lore, showcasing Ser Duncan the Tall's origin story, including how he met his squire Egg. Of course, Egg also had an important backstory, as recent episodes of the HBO show have revealed.
After the infamous Trial of Seven that Dunk found himself facing in the show's most recent episode, fans of the series are now turning their attention to the next episode - an episode that just so happens to be the season 1 finale. Here's when you can expect that.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' finale is almost upon us
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 6, titled "The Morrow", airs on HBO next Sunday, February 22, at 10:00 p.m. ET, 7:00 p.m. PT, 8:00 p.m. MT, and 9:00 p.m. CT. It will also be available to stream on HBO Max simultaneously.
The series has remained a fixture of Sunday nights, which will come as no surprise to longtime watchers of the Game of Thrones franchise. From the original show to original spinoff House of the Dragon, it's well-documented that HBO saves its primetime dramas for Sundays and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been the most recent installment in that line-up (although it does air an hour later than its predecessors did due to Industry).

It did make a brief exception for the fourth episode, still airing it on Sunday but opting for an early streaming release to avoid a complete clash with the Super Bowl. However, it's back on track with the dual linear/streaming debut taking place on Sunday once again - and that will continue to be the case for the finale.
As for what we can expect from it? Fallout - and lots of it! The season 1 finale will dive into the aftermath of the Trial of Seven that Dunk competed in. Fans were expecting it to have major consequences on the show given how hyped the event was and it's clear to see that the event itself - and the fifth episode as a whole - lived up to those expectations.
You can bet that fans will be eagerly awaiting the finale to see how it all comes to an end for the first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The good news is that, no matter how it plays out, it won't be the end of Dunk and Egg's story as a second season is already in production - one that will reportedly adapt the second Dunk and Egg novella The Sworn Sword.
We have thoroughly enjoyed the first season of the HBO show and we can't wait for the next chapter of the story of our new favorite duo in the Game of Thrones Universe! And after that fifth episode, the stakes are only going to get higher!
