It's been a long time coming, but we finally know when we can expect new episodes of one of the most beloved sci-fi shows of the past decade. Of course, 2026 promises to feature some of the most exciting, new, returning and original TV shows we can imagine, and with Stranger Things concluding at the start of the year, the standard is already set at a high, larger-than-life standard.
But we do have some titans returning to screen in the near-future too, as some of the biggest shows imaginable aer set to return in the coming weeks and months. Now, Prime Video has officially confirmed when one of the biggest will be back for its long-awaited fourth season.
Prime Video officially sets March release date for Invincible season 4
Amazon's Prime Video streaming service has officially confirmed that Invincible season 4 will premiere on March 18, 2026. The announcement came in the form of the first trailer for the upcoming season, which features a lot of the action that fans can expect from the next installment. That includes a new look at the next villain that Mark Grayson will have to go up against, as well as the confirmation that we'll be getting a Walking Dead reunion as Danai Gurira joins longtime TWD co-star Steven Yeun in the cast.
However, the clip also confirms that March 18 release date, marking the first time that fans are aware of which exact day to expect it. This comes after a more general, vague March 2026 was release window was confirmed at the show's panel at New York Comic-Con back in October. But, with March getting closer - and Prime Video also confirming that fellow superhero series The Boys would debut its fifth and final season in April - fans had begun to suspect that Invincible season 4 might get delayed. Needless to say, the trailer was a sigh of relief for them - particularly as this show has a reputation for long gaps between seasons.
Invincible has been a part of Prime Video's line-up since 2021. Based on Robert Kirkman's legendary comic book series of the same name (from Image Comics), the animated series is widely considered one of the best superhero adaptations on TV today - which really says a lot considering that there are so many of them! Focusing on teenager Mark Grayson, who becomes the hero known as Invincible, the show tells his story as he comes to terms with who he is and must reconcile that with the revelation that his "superhero" isn't exactly who he thought he was.
The first season received critical acclaim but it would be a long time before the second would come along, with an almost-three-year wait for the sophomore season. With the exception of season 2 (which came out in fall 2023 to make up for the long wait), Invincible favors a spring release, with the first, third, and now fourth debuting early on in their respective years.
We're so glad that it gets to continue that streak and thrill us this March. And, from the looks of the trailer, it's going to be a big one for Mark Grayson. We can't wait to see it!
