The previous episode of Daredevil: Born Again season 2 started with a very dark tone that continued throughout. Vanessa Fisk’s doctor was brutally killed by Mayor Wilson Fisk. Normally, that’s nothing new because Fisk kills people all the time. However, this was different because the Kingpin didn’t say a word as he crushed the man who tried to save his wife. This led to Fisk fast-tracking his plan to take out vigilantes and stealing the weapons that the mysterious (and theatrical) Mr. Charles brought into New York City.

At the end of the episode, the citizens of New York are seen protesting outside of Mayor Fisk’s office. While there, the resistance plays the testimonies of everyone Daredevil saved in the third episode of the season. This moment of uprising was interrupted after Karen Page was caught without her disguise by the most hateful character in this series: The Anti-Vigilante Task Force’s leader, Officer Powell.

What to expect from Daredevil: Born Again season 2 episode 7

This is the penultimate episode of Daredevil: Born Again season 2. That means everyone should expect the mother of all cliffhangers. After all, both this Disney Plus series and the original Netflix show know how to set the stage for epic season finales. And given where the storyline is going, we wouldn't be surprised if they pull it off again here.

With Karen Page in AVTF custody, Daredevil needs all the help that he can get. It's a good thing that he has another vigilante best friend to reach out to for help. Yes, that's right, Jessica Jones is back once again, and Marvel Studios has released a brand new look at it in the first look stills for "The Hateful Darkness".

That iconic scene from the first teasers for season 2, in which Jessica infamously tells Matt "I hope you can walk because I'm not carrying you" will take place in this episode (as confirmed by the above still). The question is: Does that mean Matt gets into a fist-fight in a bid to try and save Karen? We know that he's in a bad way after his showdown with the Kingpin in the previous episode, but after donning his legendary lawyer suit again, it looks like he's going to fight in court instead.

That doesn't mean he's done with disguises just yet. He and Jessica Jones take to the streets of New York City to go incognito once again. Are they staking out the new location in which the AVTF are holding people? Are they going to attempt to rescue Karen? Quite possibly considering that Matt won't let her false imprisonment stand.

If this writer has to guess, Matt Murdock will do something drastic to get Karen Page out of the custody of the Anti-Vigilante Task Force. The only way to do that may be to reveal to the world that he is indeed the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen.

There has been a lot of speculation that Daredevil: Born Again season 3 will feature Matt Murdock in prison based on recent spoiler images, so this could be where the wheels for those storylines are set in motion. In the comics, this happens after the FBI gets information that Matt is Daredevil (Daredevil: The Murdock Papers). However, this storyline wouldn’t work in the show. Well, at least not alone.

By combining the stories of the aforementioned Murdock Papers by writer Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Waid’s Daredevil, when Matt reveals he’s a vigilante (Daredevil No. 35), we could see a storyline similar to where Daredevil: Born Again is going. It would make sense to the overarching story of the second season while also serving as a way to connect the show to the source material. If that plays out this week, it could also be the perfect build to the season finale (and possibly leads into a storyline in Spider-Man: Brand New Day).
