We're getting closer and closer to the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and yet not much is officially known about the highly anticipated movie. Sony hasn't released a trailer despite popular demand, and the main villain remains under wraps even though shooting has already wrapped.

Fans are counting down the days until the curtain is finally lifted and we learn more about the wall-crawler's upcoming adventure. Meanwhile, multiple reports have tried to fill in some of the blanks, and it looks like Peter Parker and Daredevil might get to fight the same antagonist, potentially paving the way for the crossover of a lifetime.

The Man Without Fear finally made his big Marvel Cinematic Universe debut back in 2025 courtesy of Daredevil: Born Again. Better yet, he's about to make history yet again with the release of Season 2 on March 24, 2026. But while audiences eagerly wait until they can watch the devil make criminals pay for their crimes once more, Marvel is already looking at what will come afterward. Pre-production on Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 has already begun, and filming is reportedly set to start in March 2026. The cherry on top? Matt Murdock might be about to face a dreadful enemy from his past, and such a confrontation might have huge ramifications for his future.

The Hand will reportedly appear in Daredevil: Born Again season 3

According to renowned and reliable insider Daniel Richtman, The Hand will have a role to play in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3. The villainous organization shares a dark past with Matt Murdock, as it acted as the main antagonist in Netflix's Daredevil Season 2 and, more importantly, in The Defenders miniseries. While it's nice to know that The Hand will have a chance at redemption in the MCU (given that its portrayal in the Netflix series was met with mixed reactions), its appearance might also hint at big things to come for many superheroes.

For starters, The Hand's return could also open the door for Elodie Yung's Elektra to make a comeback. Furthermore, the timing of the organization's return nearly coincides with Jessica Jones' MCU debut. As such, it wouldn't be surprising to learn that Marvel intends to introduce the rest of The Defenders yet again and make them face the enemy that once brought them together. However, this could also mean that an anticipated team-up is on the horizon.

Peter Parker and Matt Murdock briefly crossed paths during the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, fans have been asking for a proper superhero team-up between the two for quite some time now, and it looks like our wishes were heard. Many reports have claimed that the Devil of Hell's Kitchen will work with the wall-crawler at some point in the MCU. In fact, a hidden Easter Egg in the finale of Daredevil: Born Again teases the impending crossover. It is not a matter of whether it will happen, but rather how. Fortunately, we might finally have the missing link that will connect the two characters.

Multiple reports indicate that The Hand will be the main antagonist of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Furthermore, the movie's leaked trailer featured a shot of Spidey fighting many ninjas, which would all but confirm the rumor. With that in mind, there's a chance that Peter and Matt will go against the same enemy, paving the way for the two to join forces after the Multiverse Saga comes to an end.

For the time being, it remains unclear why The Hand will return after a long hiatus or what it aims to achieve. But with a bit of luck, the organization will be even more menacing than in the Netflix Marvel series, and it will bring many different street-level heroes together for one big crossover. At the very least, it never hurts to dream.

Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will be released on March 24, 2026.
