The Marvel-Netflix shows were fantastic and gripping pieces of television that had just one major problem: they weren't connected to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Actor Charlie Cox—who plays Matt Murdock on the small screen—revealed that the shows weren't allowed to name-drop characters like Hulk or Thor, and instead they had to settle for saying things like "the big green guy" or "the man with the iron hammer." Fortunately, all of that finally changed when Matt Murdock made a brief but exciting appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Nearly five years have gone by since the wall-crawler's last big-screen adventure, and the street-level corner of the MCU has rapidly expanded. The Man Without Fear is now the star of his own show courtesy of Daredevil: Born Again. Furthermore, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage finally made their long-awaited return during the show's second season. Fortunately, this era of comebacks is just getting started, as Marvel intends to bring back even more characters from the Netflix series, according to a new report.

Elektra, Colleen Wing, and more characters will reportedly make an MCU comeback
According to reliable insider Alex Perez (via The Cosmic Circus), Marvel intends to bring back Elektra, Colleen Wing, Claire Temple, Misty Knight, and more characters from the Netflix-Marvel shows into the MCU. Unfortunately, it wasn't specified whether they will return in Daredevil: Born Again season 3 or in another project, but it's safe to say that the street-level corner of the MCU will expand even further.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 already featured a Claire Temple reference, and it has been reported by a different source that her character will appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. There's a chance Marvel will recreate that iconic Civil War comic book panel, where Frank Castle carries a heavily injured Spider-Man out of battle and gets him to a medic (or, in this case, a nurse).
Pictures taken directly from the set of Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 have revealed that Finn Jones' Iron Fist will finally join the MCU, which would make Colleen's appearance easier to accomplish. Actress Jessica Henwick previously turned down the role of Xu Xialing in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in hopes of coming back as Colleen Wing in the future, so it's nice to know that such a day is nearly here. Besides, it will be interesting to learn how Marvel handles her character, given that the last time we saw her, she had adopted the Iron Fist mantle.
Elodie Yung—known for portraying Elektra in Netflix's Daredevil season 2 and The Defenders—recently uploaded pictures of herself training in New York. That was more than enough to spark speculation that Elektra will be back in Daredevil: Born Again season 3, which is also filming in New York. Besides, now that it has been confirmed that The Hand criminal organization is set to act as one of the main antagonists in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it would be the perfect opportunity to acknowledge what happened to Elektra after a building collapsed on her in the finale of The Defenders.
A Heroes for Hire show is reportedly in the works at Marvel, and chances are it would star both Danny Rand and Luke Cage. If that were to be the case, then the project would mark the perfect opportunity for Misty Knight to come back into the fold and maybe even join the titular roster, as happened in the comic book world.
Marvel definitely has a lot of opportunities to bring these beloved characters back into the fold. For the time being, we don't know which street-level projects are being worked on at Marvel, other than Daredevil: Born Again season 3. But with San Diego Comic-Con just around the corner, that could soon change.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is now streaming on Disney+.
