What started as a single, stand-alone film featuring a relatively unknown hero expanded into a large, interconnected franchise comprising countless different stories. Now, the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn't just taking over theaters, but it has also found success on TV screens.
The Marvel Disney Plus shows have been in charge of introducing new heroes into the mix, filling the gaps between movies, and expanding many corners of the MCU. The only downside? They tend to last for one season, and one season only. Very few series have come back for a second season (let alone more), but it seems that is soon to change.
Daredevil: Born Again will reportedly have "at least" three seasons
It's time to run it back. The second season of Daredevil: Born Again has yet to be released, but Marvel is already thinking about what will come next. As reported by Nexus Point News, both Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio—the actors behind Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, respectively—have signed contracts to appear in three seasons of the show. Furthermore, Marvel plans to begin production on a third season in March 2026.
Depending on the reception of Daredevil: Born Again season 2 next year, Marvel could consider renewing the show past season 3. Fortunately, this isn't the first time we've heard about the Man Without Fear having multiple adventures on the small screen. After all, Brad Winderbaum, the Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel Studios, stated that the beloved MCU show could have indefinite annual releases.

The report came just after Charlie Cox referred to the show's upcoming 2026 release as the "final season" during GalaxyCon. Following this, fans were understandably worried about Matt Murdock's future (yet again) and questioned whether the character's time in the MCU was coming to an end. Fortunately, Vincent D'Onofrio was quick to clarify that, even if Charlie's wording was certainly confusing, the two "agree there's a very good chance for a third season".
Marvel has remained tight-lipped about what audiences can expect from the upcoming episodes of Daredevil: Born Again. Granted, it has been officially confirmed that Jessica Jones will make her MCU debut, which opens the door for the rest of the Defenders to join the fight against New York's corrupt mayor. But aside from that, everything is surrounded in secrecy, including Foggy's true fate. Fortunately, we might still have a good idea of what's in store for these street-level characters moving forward.
Renowned insider Alex Perez teased that Season 2 will be all about Matt recruiting heroes for the upcoming war, while Season 3 could potentially showcase Fisk forming his very own special team in retaliation. It's worth remembering that in the Devil's Reign comic book storyline, the Kingpin used the Thunderbolts as a personal task force that enforced his every command and hunted all the heroes in the city. With that in mind, it isn't too far-fetched to assume Season 3 could follow a similar storyline. Granted, you can say the anti-vigilante task force currently serves a similar purpose, but they aren't comprised of well-known supervillains for the time being.
Marvel reportedly plans for the Kingpin to fight Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Besides, The Punisher will have his own Disney Plus Special Presentation in 2026 and is set to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Coupled with Jessica Jones' comeback, it's easy to see that there are plans to expand the street-level corner of the MCU now that the Multiverse Saga is coming to an end. Hopefully, Matt Murdock is at the front and center of that idea, and fans can eventually see him join forces with other heroes, such as the wall-crawler.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will be released in March 2026.
