After a somewhat quiet 2024, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is ready to roll out some big stuff in 2025!

2024 was a quieter year than usual for for the studio. After 2023’s box office letdowns of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels, combined with the 2023 Hollywood strikes, Marvel decided not to flood viewers with as much material.

That paid off, as Deadpool & Wolverine was a monster hit, and Agatha All Along won huge praise and viewership. Now, Marvel is set to unveil another good slate of movies and shows that will make 2025 a better year for fans! Here’s a rundown of every Marvel-related movie and TV show coming in the new year!

The newest Spider-Man animated series hits Disney+ and offers a great fresh take on the Wall Crawler. It’s the classic origin of Peter Parker gaining his powers and learning to be a hero, but it is notable for a different supporting cast than usual. Rather than Mary Jane Watson, Gwen Stacy, or Ned Leeds, Peter will get tech support from Nico Minoru, genius Amadeus Cho, a Wakandan exchange student, and a new love interest. The big twist? Peter’s mentor is none other than Norman Osborn.

All this plus Charlie Cox reprising his most iconic role as he voices Daredevil and flashier takes on classic Spidey villains such as the Chameleon, the Scorpion, Speed Demon, Doctor Octopus and more. The intriguing turns make this a different Spidey series than usual. And one that you can check out in the final week fo January!

Captain America: Brave New World

Release date: February 14, 2025

CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD
(L-R) The Falcon/Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez) and Captain America/Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) in Marvel Studios' CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD. Photo by Eli Adé. © 2024 MARVEL.

After delays and reports of reshoots, Anthony Mackie is ready to take off in his first solo film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Captain America: Brave New World may be the fourth MCU movie abou the titular mantle but it's the first to be led by Mackie's character, Sam Wilson.

After the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam has settled into the role of Captain America allied with now President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford, taking over for the late William Hurt). He soon stumbles onto a conspiracy that could topple the country while turning Ross into the Red Hulk. Danny Ramirez is also back as Joaquin Torres, who becomes a new Falcon, with Giancarlo Esposito as a baddie and Tim Blake Nelson as the Leader.

It looks like a top-notch action thriller that pushes the MCU on and lets the new Captain America soar.

Charlie Cox is back as The Man Without Fear as Disney Plus continues the story of the late, lamented Netflix series in Daredevil: Born Again. The new plotline has Matt Murdock still helping others in the courtroom while fighting crime as Daredevil. Almost the entire cast of the Netflix show joins Cox in returning too, with Vincent D'Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, and Ayelete Zurer all reprising their roles. Jon Bernthal returns as the Punisher, too.

The big turn is Matt taking on the Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio), who’s now Mayor of New York; but the two foes may end up needing each other's help to take down a greater foe. The show appears to pick up where the Netflix series left off, and the question is if the other Defenders heroes too. If so there is no doubt that their returns would be welcome.

And speaking of welcome returns, Daredevil: Born Again is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated shows of the year as fans can't wait to revisit the world of this beloved series.

Thunderbolts*

Release date: May 2, 2025

THUNDERBOLTS*
(L-R) Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), John Walker (Wyatt Russell), and Red Guardian/Alexei Shostakov (David Harbour) in Marvel Studios' THUNDERBOLTS*. Photo courtesy of Marvel Studios. © 2024 MARVEL.

The Marvel Universe’s answer to the Suicide Squad is set to hit theaters this summer after multiple delays. Thunderbolts* features a good lineup of various supporting action characters from the MCU's archives: Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Red Guardian (David Harbour), Tasmasker (Olga Kurylenko) and John Walker/US Agent (Wyatt Russell). Somehow, they’re brought together and hunted, with Julia Louis-Dreyfus returning as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

Also around is Bob (Lewis Pullman), who appears to be the all-powerful Marvel Comics character Sentry. The action looks good, with fans interested in seeing who’s after the Thunderbolts, why they’re brought together, and maybe figure out why the title has an asterisk next to it.

Ironheart

Release date: June 24, 2025

IRONHEART

After making her debut MCU appearance in 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Dominique Thorne takes charge as Riri Williams in this Disney Plus series. Here, Riri has moved to Chicago, where she continues to develop her technology skills while helping others. She runs afoul of Parker Robbins, a.k.a. the Hood (Anthony Ramos), a crime boss with a magical edge. Riri thus breaks out her Ironheart armor to take him on.

This could tie in with upcoming Iron Man spinoffs (like Armor Wars) and give a new heroine a great showcase for Disney Plus. It also may feature the long-awaited MCU debut of Mephisto, who fans have been expecting to see in the franchise since WandaVision.

Yes, Ironheart has all the potential to be one of the great MCU surprises of the year.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

Release date: July 25, 2025

THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS
THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS. © 2024 20th Century Studios / © and ™ 2024 MARVEL.

Marvel’s First Family comes to the MCU at long, long last. The bigger news is that this is set in the 1960s (and potentially a different universe in the MCU's Multiverse), making fans wonder how it will connect to the overall MCU saga.

The actual Four are well cast: Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. Julia Garner plays the Silver Surfer, with the monstrous Galactus the main foe.

The ‘60s vibe should be fun and if nothing else, it’s great to see the book that started the Marvel Universe finally come as an MCU project.

Eyes of Wakanda

Release date: August 6, 2025

EYES OF WAKANDA
(Center): The Lion (voiced by Cress Williams) in Marvel Studios Television's EYES OF WAKANDA. © 2024 Marvel. All Rights Reserved.

Eyes of Wakanda is an upcoming Disney Plus animated series that delves into the history of Wakanda and how it’s grown. Ryan Coogler, who directed the Black Panther films produces it and the animation seems to shift like Wakanda does as they discover the secrets of Vibranium and build up their nation.

The much-anticipated show will also reveal how the Black Panther became this champion and what kings held the title. If any part of the MCU deserves a historical anthology, Wakanda is it and this should appeal to the many Black Panther fans.

With Black Panther 3 now confirmed to be in development, we know that we will be revisiting the world of Wakanda in the MCU at some point in the future. But that film won't be coming to the big screen for quite some time, so Eyes of Wakanda will be a welcome chance to return there as we wait for the next film.

Marvel Zombies

Release date: October 3, 2025

Marvel Zombies
Zombie Thanos in Marvel Television's MARVEL ZOMBIES exclusively on Disney+. Photo courtesy of Marvel Television. © 2024 MARVEL.

This long-popular comic book property gets a full-scale take in this four-part animated series. Marvel Zombies is spun out of a Season 1 What If...? episode aptly titled "What If... Zombies?!", as Black Widow and Red Guardian face off against a world filled with zombified versions of heroes from Captain America to Shang-Chi. However, things get more serious when Thanos arrives searching for the Infinity Stones, so it’s the undead against the Mad Titan, making this one wild monster mash.

That What If...? episode was noticeably darker than the rest of the series and the same will apply to Marvel Zombies, which has now been confirmed to have a TV-MA rating. Yep, this one will be for mature audiences, allowing it to take a similarly graphic approach to the source material it is based on.

Wonder Man

Release window: December 2025

Wonder Man
(L-R) Simon Williams/Wonder Man (Yahya Adbul-Mateen II) and Trevor Slattery (Sir Ben Kingsley) in Marvel Television's WONDER MAN, exclusively on Disney+. Photo by Suzanne Tenner. © 2024 MARVEL

Having already played Black Manta in the Aquaman movies, Emmy winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is no stranger to the comic book genre. Now, he joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Simon Williams; here a struggling actor trying for his big break playing a superhero named Wonder Man. He runs into the always enjoyable Trevor Slattery (Ben Kingsley) and is dragged into a wild adventure that may make him a hero for real.

Very little is known about Wonder Man at this point, but there have been a few sneak peeks unveiled over the past few months. Amidst the promo stills and teases, there have been a few brief clips released, giving us a vague idea of what to expect from it. From those, it seems to have a lighthearted tone and the banter alone should make it a carefree caper.

Undoubtedly one of the most intriguing titles of the whole year, Wonder Man promises to be something different for MCU fans.
