To say Spider-Man: Brand New Day is shaping up to be a crowded movie would be a bit of an understatement. The wall-crawler's next Marvel Cinematic Universe adventure is confirmed to have the participation of Jon Bernthal's Punisher and Mark Ruffalo's Hulk. Furthermore, rumor has it that Black Widow herself, Yelena Belova, will also make an appearance. With so many "good guys" watching over New York, it's only fair that the bad guys also have a big ensemble.
Michael Mando's Scorpion and Marvin Jones III's Tombstone will terrorize Peter Parker during the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. As if that wasn't enough, it has been reported that Tarantula, Boomerang, and Ramrod will also get their chance to shine—all of this without taking into account the main villain, whose identity still remains a mystery. But amidst all the chaos, it seems a big fan-favorite will also be added to the mix.
The Venom symbiote will reportedly appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Different sources have reported that the Venom symbiote will appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. For starters, insider MyTimeToShineHello revealed that the iconic alien will have "some kind of a role" in the upcoming MCU movie. Moreover, reliable scooper Alex Perez doubled down on this idea and provided even more information by stating that the plan is for Mac Gargan to eventually bond with the symbiote and become Venom in the future.

Actor Michael Mando even teased his eventual transformation from Scorpion to Venom on his social media—an arc that would be faithful to the character's story in comic book pages. It's important to remember that the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home showcased Tom Hardy's Venom stranded in the MCU for a while before being sent to his home dimension. However, before Eddie's departure, a piece of the symbiote was left behind, and it has likely been trying to bond with a new host since.
The MCU is always planning projects and storylines years in advance, so the idea of having a small Venom tease in Spider-Man: Brand New Day seems very plausible. That theory holds more weight when considering that a different report revealed that Tom Holland's Peter Parker will come face-to-face with both Kingpin and Venom as part of his upcoming trilogy. Now, the bigger question in store is: Will Gargan be the symbiote's next host, or is there room for Spidey to sport the black suit beforehand?
Peter first came into contact with the symbiote during the Secret Wars storyline in comic book pages. Incidentally, it has been reported that Tom Holland's Spider-Man will have a leading role in the MCU's Avengers: Secret Wars, along with Scarlet Witch. With that in mind, there's a chance that Brand New Day teases Peter's bond with the Venom symbiote, with such a storyline finally playing out in the last chapter of the Multiverse Saga.
Spidey could wear the black suit during the events of Spider-Man 5, where he could fight Kingpin in a loose adaptation of the Back in Black comic book storyline. Peter would eventually part ways with the parasitic alien, only for it to cross paths with Mac Gargan. At long last, we could see Venom fight the wall-crawler during the events of Spider-Man 6, just in time to conclude the hero's second trilogy on the big screen.
Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3 premiered nearly 20 years ago, and it marked the last time we witnessed Venom and Spider-Man sharing the big screen. Needless to say, it's been a long time coming for Marvel's most popular hero to meet one of its most popular villains in live-action. Fortunately, it appears Brand New Day will kick off such an anticipated storyline, and the best part is that we don't have to wait long to see if the rumors are true.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on Jul. 31, 2026.
