Insomniac's Marvel video game lineup reportedly revealed

Insomniac has been really quiet about their future games since the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Fortunately, that might've finally changed.

There was a time when Insomniac Games wouldn't give us a break (in the best sense of the word). They would release multiple high-quality and entertaining video games one after another during a short period of time. However, things took a complete turn after the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and the infamous hack that took place in December 2023. Now, everyone has been kept in the dark about the company and the many projects that are being developed behind the scenes.

The complete silence has made some players grow worried, especially given that Marvel's Wolverine was announced over four years ago and a trailer hasn't been released since. Besides, many assumed that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 would get a DLC, but that didn't end up being the case. So, that prompts the question: What's next for the acclaimed company? While PlayStation has yet to make any official announcements, a new report might've finally put all speculation to rest and give us an idea of what the future holds in store.

Insomniac will reportedly release three Marvel games in the future

According to scooper That REDACTED Guy, Insomniac Games is actively developing Marvel's Wolverine, Marvel's Venom, and Marvel's Spider-Man 3. Furthermore, they will be released in that sequential order, and we also have an idea of when those titles could hit shelves.

Marvel's Venom is aiming for a late 2027 release, which would mean that Marvel's Wolverine would come before that (potentially in 2026). To add fuel to the fire, this isn't the first indication we have of Logan's adventure being in its final stages of development. It has been reported that a new game trailer is ready to go, and will be released either during a State of Play presentation—which could presumably take place at the end of September—or during The Game Awards in December. Either way, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to assume that there could be a one-year gap between the new trailer and the game hitting shelves.

Marvel's Venom seems like a no-brainer. After all, players already experienced what it's like to take control over the Lethal Protector in that one awesome mission of Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Insomniac could expand on those gameplay mechanics and throw Carnage into the mix as the main antagonist. After all, he did escape with the symbiote in the previous game. Furthermore, it's being reported that Marvel's Venom will serve to "be the bridge between Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3".

While Marvel's Spider-Man 3 hasn't been officially revealed by PlayStation or Marvel, it's all but confirmed that it's coming. The voice actors behind Peter Parker and Miles Morales, Yuri Lowenthal and Nadji Jeter, have given us little teases about the game. It's been confirmed that Peter will suit up as Spidey once again despite hanging up his suit "for good" in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Besides, Miles will go back to his original costume, which is great news for everyone who disliked his evolved look.

All things considered, it seems there will be a lot of Insomniac Marvel titles coming our way not too long in the future. If the report turns out to be accurate, then PlayStation should start making the official announcements soon. Right now, all eyes are set on the end of September to discover whether a State of Play event is really coming our way. If that's the case, then the four-year silence regarding Marvel's Wolverine is all but confirmed to come to an end. And who knows? Perhaps The Game Awards or Summer Game Fest 2026 could be an ideal place to reveal Marvel's Venom.
