When it comes to creating memorable Marvel video games, few developers could rival Insomniac Games. The studio has already released two mainline titles and one spin-off in its Marvel's Spider-Man franchise, all of which have been praised for their memorable stories and engaging gameplay mechanics. Furthermore, superhero fans worldwide are eager to play Insomniac's latest project, Marvel's Wolverine, which is just around the corner. But the cherry on top? This is just the beginning.

Voice actors have confirmed that Marvel's Spider-Man 3 is coming our way. Furthermore, a sequel to Marvel's Wolverine is very likely if the first installment is met with critical and commercial success. Insomniac has the perfect opportunity to keep working and evolving its two existing Marvel franchises, so why not add a third one into the mix? Well, according to a new report, that's exactly what will happen.

Insomniac Games will reportedly develop another Marvel game outside the Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Wolverine franchises

Evan Filarca, the founder and leader of the Spidey Squad, was enrolled in the Disney College Program. During his time there, he attended two seminars focusing on the heritage of Disney Games, where it was hinted that Insomniac Games is set to tackle yet another Marvel franchise outside of Spider-Man and Wolverine. So the question now becomes: which other character will get the Insomniac treatment?

The most likely and obvious answer is Venom. After all, it has been reported that a stand-alone game starring the Lethal Protector is coming our way in 2027 and will serve to bridge the gap between Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and 3. But while that spin-off title could indeed be alive and well, Filarca hinted that the project teased by Disney "is something else."

Interestingly, Insomniac may have already planted the seeds for the introduction of another hero with the release of Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Eagle-eyed players noticed a hidden room containing many guns and katanas without any apparent explanation. Back then, it was heavily theorized that the room was an Easter egg teasing the eventual introduction of The Hand, a criminal organization often associated with Daredevil. Although a concrete answer still eludes us to this day, those suspicions are likely to be true.

During a blink-and-you-miss-it moment in the latest Marvel's Wolverine trailer, Logan is seen fighting a red ninja wielding two katanas. Much to fans' disappointment, the character didn't turn out to be Deadpool. Instead, it's all the more likely that Insomniac gave us our first look at The Hand in action. Now, let's address the elephant in the room: even if The Hand appears in Insomniac's universe, it doesn't mean that Daredevil will do the same. However, it's important to remember that the Nelson & Murdock office can be found within the Marvel's Spider-Man map.

Despite being one of Marvel's most popular heroes, the Man Without Fear has never been the star of a stand-alone video game (save for a side-scroller tie-in title based on the Ben Affleck movie). As such, Insomniac Games could finally bring him into the mix, especially if games like Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Wolverine already have ties to him.

Granted, there are plenty of characters under the Marvel umbrella who could have their own video game. However, Daredevil aligns more with the work that Insomniac Games has done so far, and a street-level team-up between him, Logan, and the wall-crawler would make for an incredible video game experience. With a bit of luck, it won't be long before we finally find out what the acclaimed studio has in store for the future.

Marvel's Wolverine will be released on Sept. 15, 2026.
