The previous episode of IT: Welcome to Derry opened with the shocking return of Matty. Everyone (this writer included) thought he was dead. Instead, Pennywise was keeping him in the sewer and feeding off his fear. It may have given viewers hope that the other kids survived. Sadly, it’s not completely true. Matty says Teddy was dead when he was dragged in. Susie was alive for a time, but her arm was gone, and she eventually died from blood loss. The only one left is Phil, but he’s still in the sewer and unable to talk or move.
The kids look at this as a chance to get Ronnie’s father out of prison. Unfortunately, Matty refuses to go to the police because they’ll send him back home. He says that whatever happened to him at home is worse than what “it” did to him, and that’s a terrifying thought. However, after realizing they’re out of options, Lilly gives Matty an ultimatum. He either takes them to the sewer to get Phil, or they drag him to the police. He took the first choice.
The quote from the IT franchise “We all float down here” comes up after the truth is revealed: All of their friends are dead, including Matty. The thing that they thought was Matthew Clements was Pennywise using his powers to get the kids in the sewer. In the next episode, we’ll find out if Ronnie, Marge, Lilly, Will, and Rich float too.

What to expect in IT: Welcome to Derry episode 6
The trailer for the next episode of IT: Welcome to Derry shows us that Pennywise will be a big part of it, and not just in random forms. Fans will see him as the clown they recognize. Thanfkully, Lily found the shard that was dropped in the sewer and is aware that Pennywise fears it.
Another storyline involving Pennywise involves Hank. How did he escape the sewer? Why did he see Leroy’s dead friend? And (in my best Brad Pitt in Seven voice) what’s in the box? None of the answers will be pleasing, but they should help the show's momentum as we approach the final few episodes of IT: Welcome to Derry.

Besides the stuff with Pennywise, a storyline to watch involves Ronnie’s dad, Hank, and the nurse he was sleeping with. After the reveal that they are sneaking around, we should have known nothing could come, and the trailer confirms it.
It looks like the people of Derry are looking for Hank and know where he’s hiding. Sadly, it may not be where they think, and it could have some serious consequences as a result of that. Maybe this will end with the nurse confessing that she was with him when the kids were killed. That would clear his name. Unfortunately, it's doubtful a show like this will have anything resembling a happy ending for anyone.
