It might seem bold of us to say that Avengers: Doomsday is easily the most anticipated movie of 2026 in a year that also featured the groundbreaking, record-breaking, box office-smashing Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but if there is one titan that can beat Marvel... it's Marvel. In fact, Doomsday is already besting Spidey in presales - despite the fact that Brand New Day is now the third-highest-grossing movie of all time - so the odds are in Earth's Mightiest Heroes' favor.
That right there shows you how highly-anticipated the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie truly is, and that's also the reason why audiences in the UK are chomping at the bit for tickets to go on sale in their neck of the woods. And, despite the fact that fans in the US can book tickets this far in advance, that is not yet a thing in the UK and other European locations.
But that doesn't mean that we don't know when to expect them. With that in mind, let's look at the past to predict exactly when the Avengers: Doomsday tickets release date in the UK is.
Avengers: Doomsday tickets' expected UK release date
Avengers: Doomsday tickets are expected to go on sale in the UK around late October or early November. That window would place the opening around six weeks before the film's December release date, allowing Marvel fans the typical six-week window to purchase tickets for the must-see film.
As alien as it might sound to other territories, Marvel movies in the UK follow the typical tickets release format, meaning that presales don't open until around 4-6 weeks before the movie releases in theaters. This is in contrast to the US' approach, as Disney launched the presales early - five months before Avengers: Doomsday's release - with the very first trailer in order to capitalize on the buzz, building long-term anticipation and long-term sales. See, December is going to be busy for cinemas with Avengers and Dune: Part Three releasing on the same week, so it's been a competition between both in the US to secure screens - with Dune ultimately claiming IMAX.
In order to counteract the IMAX issue, Marvel launched the Infinity Vision format, placing those tickets on sale back in July ahead of general sales, which commenced in August. All of this benefitted from the release of that original trailer and the second "A Special Look" teaser that spotlighted Doctor Doom. But, again, this was a domestic campaign only, meaning that countries outside of the film's domestic market simply followed the typical protocols for blockbuster releases. And yes, that includes the UK.
As the two previous trailers directly influenced ticket releases, it wouldn't be surprising if UK theater chains wait until the launch of the third and final Avengers: Doomsday trailer to open presales for the film. That could effectively act as the same kind of launching pad as the previous ones did for it in the domesti market.
The reason that Marvel fans are suddenly more interested in when they can book Avengers: Doomsday tickets than ever before is down to the fact that it has been officially confirmed that the juggernaut film will release two days earlier in the UK. After much speculation, Disney confirmed to Digital Spy that the newest Avengers movie will indeed arrive on December 16 in UK markets, meaning that fans there can watch it two days earlier than their US counterparts.
While Marvel Studios movies release earlier internationally quite regularly, it was still somewhat unexpected for an Avengers movie of this scale to release earlier anywhere considering how spoilers will undoubtedly leak out. Avengers: Doomsday is, after all, the beginning of the Multiverse Saga's culmination, meaning that fans who have been keeping up with all of the MCU shows and movies over the course of the past 5-6 years will be eagerly awaiting the events that play out in this one.
Although the franchise's current chapter hasn't experienced the same sustained success that its previous Infinity Saga did, Avengers movies historically perform extremely well. The MCU is also building itself back up, with major critical wins like Thunderbolts* and The Fantastc Four: First Steps, and the massively successful Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Avengers: Doomsday is the next chapter in that story.
Before all of that, however, Avengers Endgame: Encore - the re-release of 2019's Avengers: Endgame that will feature new footage from Avengers: Doomsday - looks to heat up the box office, warming it up for the big one this December.
