Well, Marvel Studios has got the world talking again. In what should come as a surprise to no one, the Avengers: Doomsday presentation at CinemaCon sent the internet into a complete meltdown as fans of the beloved Marvel Cinematic Universe reacted to the first full-length teaser trailer for the upcoming movie. And that's pretty impressive considering it was the most high-profile film not to actually release its trailer to the wider public.
Yes, the breakdowns and footage descriptions made their way online shortly afterwards, with fans attempting to piece it together so that they can imagine what the footage looks like. But it's hard to replicate the feelings of awe and euphoria that the audience in The Dolby Colosseum at Caesars Palace felt when they watched the actual footage of the movie play out before their eyes - twice because it was so epic!
Naturally, fans want to know when - or if - the trailer / footage will be released online to wider audiences. And the good news is that it is expected to be (or at least a variation of it). And here are the two most likely options.
A late May release to accompany Disney's big summer movie
Right now, audiences are predicting that the first teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday could be released next month and there is simply one reason for that: The Mandalorian and Grogu. The upcoming Star Wars film is expected to be one of the biggest movies of the summer, so it would make sense for Disney to tack on a trailer for Avengers: Doomsday to the movie's theatrical release.
After all, what better way to promote one of your biggest franchises (Marvel) than to use the platform of one of your others (Star Wars). There's more than enough crossover between the two fanbases and that would make The Mandalorian and Grogu the perfect spot to debut the new trailer (likely resulting in an online release ahead of the film's May 22 theatrical debut).

Ironically, this would mirror the studio's approach to those four initial teasers that were released between December 2025 and January 2026. Marvel Studios debuted four weekly teasers for Avengers: Doomsday in theaters - each one tied to the release of Avatar: Fire and Ash. A week after each one's release, it was officially released online. This time around, the new trailer would likely be released first - and then accompany The Mandalorian and Grogu in theaters.
Of course, if that doesn't happen, there is another place where a trailer would almost definitely surface...
San Diego Comic-Con this summer
Whenever there is a major nerd culture event on the horizon, you can be sure that there will be a panel / presentation for it at San Diego Comic-Con. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is a regular of the event, as the studio takes over Hall H on the Saturday evenings of SDCC week to promote the upcoming MCU titles. And after famously skipping last year's event (due to focusing on prepping Avengers: Doomsday and living in the moment to strengthen its current slate), it's highly likely that Feige, the Russos, Robert Downey Jr. and some more of the movie's stars will be back this year.
SDCC is where Marvel famously announced that the upcoming film had been reinvented with Downey returning in the new role of Doctor Doom. With that, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty became Avengers: Doomsday and RDJ and the Russos were the ones who made the announcement in 2024. Now, they could very well reunite to unveil the first trailer at this year's event (although that has yet to be confirmed).

Let us make one thing very clear: If there is an Avengers: Doomsday presentation at San Diego Comic-Con (which there very likely will be), there will be some kind of trailer released. If Marvel hasn't publicly released the CinemaCon trailer by that point, it could be a reworked version of that one or a completely new one altogether. But, if we're being honest, SDCC this summer is probably the best place to debut it. It's the grandest stage possible and it will undoubtedly generate even more buzz than the CinemaCon one did.
Moreover, it's not entirely unusual to release the first teaser trailer for a December movie in the summer. Anytime earlier than that (say May) would be considered too early, and that's probably why Marvel didn't release the CinemaCon footage online. And granted, they did start promotion earlier than expected with the four standalone teasers tied to Avatar: Fire and Ash, but those were specifically designed to tease without giving away the plot - effectively working as a quartet of teasers that could well "tease" the movie until the marketing officially kicks off in the summer.
With that in mind, it wouldn't be surprising if Marvel were to stick on an edited version of either these teasers or the CinemaCon trailer to The Mandalorian and Grogu's release, clearing the field for a brand new trailer to release at Comic-Con.
Regardless of whether the CinemaCon trailer surfaces or not, Saturday July 25 will likely be a very important day for MCU fans.
