It's certainly an exciting time to be a Marvel fan. The biggest franchise in the world staged a huge comeback this summer with the record-breaking, $2 billion-dollar-grossing Spider-Man: Brand New Day and it's set to make more history this Christmas with the juggernaut Avengers: Doomsday, which will bring about the beginning of its current storyline's conclusion. In between those releases, however, it will also re-release the previous Avengers movie, Avengers: Endgame, in movie theaters.
While plenty of Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are ready to see the new footage in the re-release that will tie directly into Avengers: Doomsday, others are just excited to revisit the movie all over again. It is, after all, one of the biggest movies of all time and a critically-acclaimed conclusion to the Infinity Saga. However, Marvel fans in the UK don't have to wait until the film is re-released in theaters to revisit it.
Avengers: Endgame is now available to stream for free in the UK
Avengers: Endgame is available to stream for free in the UK on the Channel 4 streaming platform. The MCU classic recently aired on Channel 4's TV channel, meaning that it is also available to stream on the network's streaming service. However, it is only available for three more weeks, with the title expiring from its library on Monday, October 12.
It's not the only Marvel movie available on the platform either, with fellow Marvel Studios films Black Panther and Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings as well as 20th Century Fox's Daredevil also now streaming.
As we said above, it's a big month for Avengers: Endgame as the film is being re-released in theaters ahead of Avengers: Doomsday's theatrical release this December. The standard re-release features around two extra minutes of new footage while the IMAX and Infinity Vision versions will feature another 3-4 bonus minutes that will serve as a sneak peek for Avengers: Doomsday - effectively tying the two Avengers movies together.
Endgame and Doomsday have quite a lot in common. The former was one of the final cinematic chapters in the MCU's Infinity Saga while the latter is the penultimate cinematic chapter in the franchise's Multiverse Saga. And, after some extensive reworking of the Multiverse Saga, Marvel Studios has found a way to tie both films together, ensuring that the fifth Avengers movie is something of a continuation of the fourth - while also fulfilling its original purpose of setting the Multiverse Saga's conclusion in motion.
Initially released in 2019, Avengers: Endgame saw the six original Avengers reunite to take on Thanos, while also launching an elaborate attempt to go back in time, reunite the Infinity Stones and save their fallen friends (who Thanos eradicated when he snapped half of the universe out of existence). The film was praised for serving as an incredible, emotional conclusion to an 11-year story and it ended up becoming the highest-grossing movie of all time upon its release.
Although a re-release of Avatar eventually saw the James Cameron movie re-take the top spot, it's now possible that Endgame's re-release could see it reclaim it, too. And with the buzz increasing ahead of Avengers: Doomsday's release in December, there's a pretty high chance that this could happen - especially as it has since been revealed that Avengers Endgame: Encore is tracking for a record re-release opening.
