Back in the early days of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, every single hero introduced on the big screen would go on to make multiple appearances over short periods of time. Tony Stark, for example, flew into action in Iron Man 2, The Avengers, and Iron Man 3 in a little under three years. On the same page; Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, Thor Odinson, and Scott Lang (to name just a few) would take audiences on many adventures one after another. Unfortunately, those days are long gone.
Nowadays, some MCU heroes are introduced never to be seen again in nearly three years, and there's no better example than Moon Knight himself. While Marc Spector was the star of his own Disney Plus show back in March 2022, audiences never saw him suit up again in any subsequent Marvel projects. Many wondered how long he'd be out of the picture, and while Marvel has yet to confirm a second season of his show, he showed up in the least expected of places... for a brief moment, that is.
Moon Knight makes a cameo in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is the latest Marvel show released on Disney Plus, and it's filled with no shortage of Easter Eggs. Audiences have witnessed recreations of classic comic book covers, homages to big music artists such as Daft Punk, and of course cameos from other iconic heroes such as Daredevil and Iron Man. However, one little secret that went mostly unnoticed was the appearance of Moon Knight.

During episode 6 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man — titled Duel with the Devil — Norman Osborn attends a charity event at a restaurant. At the 11:03 mark, there's a blink-and-you-miss-it moment when audiences see the outside of the place, and Mr. Knight is at the left of the entrance posing for the cameras. Mr. Knight is one of the many personalities living within Marc Spector, better known for wearing a completely white suit just as displayed in the scene.
It's worth remembering that Moon Knight is a multi-millionaire on comic book pages, explaining why he would make an appearance outside of a charity event. Granted, that aspect of the hero wasn't portrayed in the live-action show, but Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man takes place in a branching reality. That means the character that made a cameo in the animated show isn't the same as the one we saw in the MCU back in 2022.
This isn't the only Moon Knight reference we see in episode six of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. At the 9:57 mark, Peter Parker, Harry Osborn, and Nico Minoru are trying to decide which movie to watch. Well, one of the options is called "Tomb Buster", which is a fictional title that Marc Spector and his late brother, Randall, watched when they were young in Moon Knight's live-action show. One of the protagonists of the movie is called Steven Grant, which would later become the name adopted by one of Marc's personalities.
These sorts of Easter Eggs are the ones that make any Marvel project feel like it's connected to a bigger, wider world where multiple heroes and villains coexist. Fortunately, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man hasn't disappointed in this aspect (or any other, for that matter).
As for Moon Knight, fingers crossed he makes a proper comeback during the events of either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars. There are also rumors of a second season of the show being in development - which is something we all need right away, Marvel! After all, three years without knowing what's next for the character is way too long. Let's face it: we need more of Oscar Isaac in the MCU.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man airs new episodes on Disney Plus on Wednesdays.
