Developer Insomniac Games first took over the superhero world by storm with the release of the critically acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4 back in 2018. Fast-forward a few years, and not only have they expanded the franchise with a spin-off and a sequel, but they surprised fans once more by revealing they would work on a Wolverine video game. Since the jaw-dropping announcement, we've all had the same question in mind: Will the two sagas take place in the same universe? Well, the answer is a clear yes, according to Senior Creative Director Bryan Intihar. Now, a whole universe of possibilities is wide open.
During an interview with The Direct, Peter Parker voice actor Yuri Lowenthal revealed that the wall-crawler hasn't crossed paths with Logan just yet in the Insomniac Marvel Universe by stating: "Based on the information that I have, I don't think they've met yet... I'd love to see them together, obviously". However, Yuri did reveal that he would like to see such a crossover come to life further down the line: "I would love for them to, obviously, create opportunities."

All signs would seem to indicate that Insomniac's iterations of Spider-Man and Wolverine could eventually team up. But will that really be the case? Well, a new report finally sheds some light on this mystery.
Spider-Man and Wolverine will reportedly cross paths in Insomniac's Marvel video game universe
According to insider That REDACTED Guy, a Spider-Man and Wolverine crossover will happen in Insomniac's video game universe. Furthermore, the same source also reported that the seeds of this event might be planted even sooner than anticipated. A Marvel's Venom spin-off has been long-rumored to be in the works, and it could feature a battle between the Lethal Protector and Logan himself.
Much like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Insomniac loves to tease future storylines of its superhero projects through post-credits scenes. Marvel's Spider-Man for PS4 revealed that the sequel would be all about Harry becoming Venom. Furthermore, the final moments of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 hinted that Doctor Octopus and Norman Osborn will team up to fight the wall-crawlers in what's described as the saga's "final chapter". With that in mind, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to assume that Marvel's Wolverine will do the same, and could give us a better idea of where the saga is headed.
Insomniac has officially revealed that Logan's upcoming video game adventure will be all about the ruthless anti-hero trying to discover more about his obscure past. Interestingly enough, Peter Parker's parents met (and even saved) Wolverine in comic book pages when they worked as CIA agents. Furthermore, the ongoing Spider-Man & Wolverine (2025) comic series even toyed with the idea that James Howlett was responsible for the deaths of Richard and Mary Parker. With that in mind, there's a chance that the events of Marvel's Wolverine could follow a similar story, with the titular hero discovering he once knew Peter's parents.

Logan's search for answers about his past could eventually lead him to New York in search of Peter Parker. This could also coincide with the events of Marvel's Venom, and as simple as that, we could get a video game rematch between the symbiotic alien and Weapon X, given that the two faced each other in Ultimate Spider-Man (2005) and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.
To take things a step further, it has been rumored that Insomniac Games might also get to work on a Daredevil video game (which would explain that possible 'The Hand' Easter Egg in Marvel's Spider-Man 2). If that's the case, then there could be a slight scenario in which Logan, Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Matt Murdock all team up to save New York from a greater danger. Not only would that be exciting in itself, but it would mark the first proper Marvel crossover in video games, which is long overdue.
2026 could finally give us a hint of what's to come in Insomniac's Universe with the release of Marvel's Wolverine. For the time being, one thing is very clear: There's no reason for Spider-Man and Logan not to cross paths, given that the same developer is working on their respective franchises.
Marvel's Wolverine is set to be released in Fall 2026.
