There was a time when the Marvel Cinematic Universe couldn't quite find its footing with its Disney+ series, but things couldn't be any more different as of late. Agatha All Along, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Marvel Zombies, and Wonder Man all prove the superhero giant has cracked the code on how to make a proper show that doesn't feel like an overextended movie. Fortunately, this is just the beginning of a new streaming era.

Marvel is finally getting used to renewing its series for a second season or beyond, despite refraining from doing so during its early days. This year alone, audiences will step back into familiar worlds courtesy of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2. Furthermore, it has been reported that Wonder Man Season 2 is very close to being greenlit, while every now and then, we get promising updates about Hawkeye Season 2.

Better yet, it seems Marvel has big, long-term plans in store for one of its most beloved street-level heroes. That's right, the devil is not only back, but he's here to stay.

Marvel is reportedly planning to renew Daredevil: Born Again beyond Season 3

It was recently reported that Marvel will cast a new "series regular with options" for Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, who will have "a long-term role in the show". At the time of writing this, there have been no official announcements regarding the show's renewal for a fourth season. However, if the superhero giant wants to introduce new characters with an important arc in the "long-term", it would all but confirm Matt Murdock's adventure is far from over - as it would have to continue beyond season 3.

During an interview with Screen Rant, the Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel Studios, Brad Winderbaum, stated that the plan is for Daredevil: Born Again to go on as long as possible, with yearly releases:

"That is the plan. Season 2 will come out (...) and then hopefully season 3 and season infinity after that. I think this world is extremely rich, and there are many stories to be told on the streets of New York."

So far, Marvel has stuck to that initial plan, as Born Again Season 2 will release a little over a year after its predecessor. Furthermore, it has been reported that Season 3 will shoot between March and July 2026. If the same pattern were to hold for next year, production for Season 4 would begin nearly at the same time audiences get to watch a new batch of episodes.

It is no secret that there are big plans in store for the street-level heroes. Jessica Jones will finally make a comeback this March, with rumors suggesting she will have her own standalone series. Furthermore, the Punisher One Shot Special will be released this year, while it has been widely reported that the rest of the Defenders will make their long-awaited comeback and even join Daredevil during the events of Avengers: Secret Wars.

Marvel seems to have a clear vision of its characters and their future, which wasn't true during most of the Multiverse Saga. As such, it is reassuring to learn that Born Again could keep having yearly releases going into the next MCU phase. Better yet, it seems there's a lot of trouble in store for Matt Murdock (which always makes us, fans, happy).

The new series regular is theorized to be the illegitimate son of the Kingpin, Byron Fisk. While he claims to be more righteous than his father, Byron still wants to rule over New York and take over the criminal empire that his dad built from the ground up. This would introduce a new power dynamic in the MCU that could make for many seasons of television. Fortunately, it won't be long before we find out more about what is in store for Wilson Fisk, Matt Murdock, and the rest of these beloved characters.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will be released on March 24, 2026.
