Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars are shaping up to be not only the biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, but some of the biggest superhero projects ever made. Heroes across the entire multiverse will assemble in an attempt to stop Doctor Doom from reigning supreme over reality as a whole. For the first time in cinematic history, the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Wakandans, Thunderbolts, and Avengers are set to join forces in a crossover of unprecedented proportions. With so many good guys willing to put their lives on the line to save the day, surely Doctor Doom won't be the only bad guy to stand against them, right?
It has been reported that Avengers: Secret Wars will feature the appearance of multiple MCU villains audiences have seen before and are familiar with. Actor Josh Brolin teased that we'll see more of Thanos in the future, and now that Ultron is confirmed to make a comeback, the murderous android could face Earth's Mightiest Heroes as well. But even if these two powerhouses were to join forces with Doom, it might not prove to be enough. As such, the ruler of Latveria is all but guaranteed to have an ace up his sleeve, and we may finally know what it is.
Doom-Bots will reportedly appear in the upcoming Avengers movies
Renowned insider Alex Perez recently posted a picture of the ruler of Latveria with an army of Doom-Bots beside him, with the caption: "Y’all didn’t think he was alone…did you?", likely referencing what's to come in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. In comic book pages, Doom-Bots are robots designed in their master's image, and with similar abilities (such as being able to shoot lightning from their gauntlets). Additionally, they are programmed to obey Doom's every command as if it were a law.

The casting reveal of Robert Downey Jr as the MCU's next big bad already teased that the Doom-Bots were coming. After all, the Comic-Con stage was filled with many people wearing Doctor Doom's attire, yet only one of them was the real deal. As for the rest, they could be seen as the villain's minions and decoys. Besides, if history has taught us anything, it is that the big superhero crossovers tend to include a disposable army of villains to fight the good guys.
During the events of the first Avengers movie, we witnessed Earth's Mightiest Heroes face a horde of aliens called the Chitauri. In Age of Ultron, countless murderous robots decimated the capital of Sokovia. Furthermore, Thanos had an entire army to do his bidding, and he also had the help of the Black Order. As such, it only makes sense that Doom will have allies by his side as well, and it might come courtesy of the Doom-Bots.
Earth's Mightiest Heroes will not only need to battle Doom himself, but an army of murderous robots. Besides, Thanos could make his MCU comeback, and rumor has it that there will be a lot of friction between the good guys as well. At this point, an Avengers vs X-Men battle is all but confirmed, and rumor has it that Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man will fight Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. With that in mind, it seems that the Avengers will have their plates full.
Out of all the Avengers: Doomsday trailers released so far, none of them have given us a look at Doctor Doom or his army of robots. With a bit of luck, Super Bowl 2026 proves to be the date when Marvel finally pulls down the curtain on their next big bad, and fans around the world can finally get a glimpse of him in action. For the time being, we'll have to settle for knowing what his suit will look like, courtesy of leaked concept art.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on Dec. 18, 2026.
