It's been a wild couple of weeks to be a Spider-Man fan. On one hand, Sony has provided fans with a first look at Nicolas Cage's upcoming alternate Spider-Man series Spider-Noir, and on the other, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spidey stars Tom Holland and Zendaya are now reportedly married. And all of this has been happening while fans have been buzzing about the seemingly imminent arrival of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer.

Holland and Zendaya will both be starring in the upcoming MCU film, reprising their roles from the previous three movies. It's set to arrive this summer and, with spring upon us, that first trailer probably should have arrived by now. At least that's what the fans are saying, particularly because Marvel Studios' other big movie this year - Avengers: Doomsday - has already unveiled four trailers despite its planned December release.

But, according to this newest update, it might be upon us.

Sony seemingly lays groundwork for Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer launch

It looks like the official website for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been launched by Sony. Discovered by fans online, the website - spidermanbrandnewday.movie - currently redirects to the Sony Pictures homepage, which means that it's definitely affiliated with the film. And, with that, fans have taken this as a sign that the trailer release is imminent. There are a number of reasons why that is likely the case.

Let's start with the basic one: A number of industry insiders have revealed that the film's first trailer is expected to release before the end of March, with one even pinpointing the last two weeks of the month as the likely release window for the preview. Furthermore, given that this is a movie with a summer release we are talking about here, a first trailer has to come out soon - as April will be just three months away from its premiere, making the typical three-trailer schedule seem unlikely.

It's also worth remembering that, although Sony Pictures owns the movie rights to Spider-Man, Marvel Studios is still involved here as the two share the character for the MCU. And, with that, Brand New Day is releasing in Marvel's typical summer slot - which has hosted both Deadpool and Wolverine and The Fantastic Four: First Steps across the past two months. Both of those movies had trailers released by this point of their respective years.

It's only natural that fans have been calling for Spider-Man 4 to get the same treatment.

The promo for Spider-Man: Brand New Day could be about to begin

It sounds like the trailer might be imminent. After all, as The Direct points out, the web address was registered by domain management service MarkMonitor -the same service through which Sony registered the official title for previous Spidey movie Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021.

Needless to say, fans are excited about this major update. One user on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, pointed out all of the signs that this is official, saying: "Domain registered, redirect live, marketing about to start cooking". Another echoed this sentiment, commenting about how it's "really" happening.

There has been such focus on Avengers: Doomsday in recent months that fans have been concerned that Spider-Man: Brand New Day might get overlooked as a result of that. This became that much more prevalent when both Marvel and Sony decided not to showcase the first trailer at the Super Bowl, which would have been the welcome positive exposure needed for the movie after its trailer leaked online a few months before that. But now, the wheels might finally be in motion for the long-awaited movie as the webslinger could crawl his way onto our screens in the coming weeks.

Yes, it sounds like the promo train is well and truly about to begin! And it goes without saying that this is the positive trailer update that fans have been waiting for.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in movie theaters on July 31, 2026.
