The Marvel Comics event Ultimate Endgame is the conclusion of the Ultimate Universe. Everything that the Maker (a.k.a. Ultimate Reed Richards) created would either come to an end, continue without the eyes of readers, or become something so horrific that it wouldn’t be worth mentioning. It also meant that every hero and villain would be expendable. That much was certain when Spider-Man was killed by a version of Carnage.
While that was indeed a sad moment for Marvel readers, nothing could prepare people for the story's next death in Ultimate Endgame No. 4.

The death of a legend
While Doctor Doom (a different Ultimate Reed Richards), America Chavez, and Iron Lad fought inside the Dome, the remaining heroes battled the Maker’s forces outside. Among the people the resistance was fighting was Captain Britain, who showed up at one of the battlefields and was met by Captain America. He was stronger and faster than Steve Rogers, and they both knew it. Nevertheless, Cap wasn’t going to back down, even after Captain Britain cut his hand off. But that was only the beginning of body parts being removed.
After Rogers loses his arm, Quicksilver and Hawkeye (Charli Ramsey) could only sit and watch what happens next. Captain Britain says: “I have put Britain’s myths in chains. But America’s… I will simply kill.” After that, he decapitates the formerly living legend, Steve Rogers. But there’s no time to grieve. The Maker has broken free from the Dome and is ready to unmake the universe.
Predictions for Ultimate Endgame No. 5
Staying with the theme of the article, I truly believe that Captain America’s death will be avenged by the two people whom he believed in, Charli Ramsey and Quicksilver. Each of them had moments of doubt that were quickly dismissed by Steve Rogers. Hawkeye thought he couldn’t hit a shot without the tech, and Quicksilver didn’t believe he could be redeemed. Both were proven wrong thanks to the motivating and truthful words of Captain America. Because of that, the two of them will be the ones to take down their mentor’s killer.
Lastly, now that the Maker is free, we have to look at who we haven’t seen yet; chief among them is Jean Grey and Wolverine. During Ultimate Wolverine No. 16, Logan said everything that happened to him was caused by the Maker. While this writer initially assumed the duo would appear in issue No. 4 of Ultimate Endgame, it’s almost a guarantee they’ll influence the Maker’s end. Whether or not they and everyone survive remains to be seen.
As it currently stands, the final issue of Ultimate Endgame is scheduled for June 24, 2026. Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to find out how everything concludes.
