At the end of One World Under Doom, Victor von Doom gave up his life to resurrect Valeria Richards. Since he was the one who killed her (accidentally, in One World Under Doom No. 8), it was only right that he sacrificed himself to bring his goddaughter back.
What may have flown under the radar is that two of the artifacts that make a person the Sorcerer Supreme (the Cloak of Levitation and the Eye of Agamotto) were lost with him. Thankfully, Wanda Maximoff heard the cries of both objects and saved them after going through The Last Door.

During the first issue of Scarlet Witch, writer Steve Orlando introduced a new magical object called The Last Door. According to Wanda, it “Finds people at their lowest, those with nowhere to turn, and brings them here.” And by “here,” she means the magic shop where she (Wanda) and her assistant, Darcy Lewis, can help anyone in need.
In Sorcerer Supreme No. 1, Wanda mentions that she heard the cries of the Eye and Agamotto and the Cloak of Levitation because they're more than cloth and metal. After saving them, both the Eye and Cloak knew they needed a new bearer who wouldn't betray them. Since the Scarlet Witch rescued them from oblivion, she was accepted as their new wielder and new Sorcerer Supreme.
As noble as that move was, the Vishanti (who are some of the eldest beings in the universe took offense at what the Scarlet Witch did. They said that only they could find a successor. And like most elder and cosmic beings, they underestimated who she is and what she is capable of. They end up defeated and sent to what Wanda called neutral ground. Of course, this wasn't over. The Vishanti named a new Sorcerer Supreme who attacks Wanda at the end of the issue, and it’s none other than Agatha Harkness.
Agatha Harkness and the Vishanti aren’t the only ones who have problems with Wanda taking the title. One of Doctor Strange’s oldest and best friends, Wong, is upset. Not only because of the Scarlet Witch being the Sorcereress Supreme while Doctor Strange has disappeared (he's in Asgard). She moved into the Sanctum Sanctorum. There are more worldwide, but she went to the one in New York.
If you know Wong’s personality, saying he’s upset is a strong word to use. He’s a peaceful person who rarely gets angry or holds a grudge. That’s why it makes sense that the comic ends with him saying that he’s willing to be wrong about Wanda Maximoff. He only wishes that she sought his counsel. Another thing that gives him hope is that the Scarlet Witch is willing to walk Bats (the Sanctum’s talking ghost dog). So maybe there's hope after all.
