The multiverse was saved, villains were rescued, and New York found peace once more. However, it all came at the cost of a single identity. After the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, everyone has forgotten that Peter Parker ever existed, and for a while, it seemed the Marvel Cinematic Universe did so too. It's been nearly five years since the wall-crawler last appeared on the big screen, but this long hiatus is finally coming to an end.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is just on the horizon, and the movie's marketing is finally firing on all cylinders. The first official trailer broke the record for being the fastest ever to surpass one billion views. Furthermore, Marvel released a clip of the film during CinemaCon. So, to keep the streak going, we have a new behind-the-scenes video that highlights the scope and practicality of the action sequences. As if that wasn't enough, we also have a new official poster that puts the spotlight on Peter Parker himself.

Marvel releases a behind-the-scenes video for Spider-Man: Brand New Day

When Destin Daniel Cretton was announced as the director for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, fans were understandably excited. His previous superhero film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, had some of the best action sequences in the MCU as a whole, which is no easy feat considering projects like Captain America: The Winter Soldier excel in this aspect. But while the wall-crawler's movie isn't here just yet, we already have a taste of Destin's directorial style.

A new behind-the-scenes video showcases just how many stunts were filmed practically. At the four-second mark, we see Spidey jumping off a car straight at Michael Mando's Scorpion. This shot reveals that the villain's tail will be completely made with CGI (as was to be expected). Furthermore, this is the second time we see Mac Gargan suited up but without a helmet. Granted, toys have revealed that he will indeed have a helmet, but it wouldn't be far-fetched to assume that he won't use it most of the time.

At the five-second mark, we see the wall-crawler being thrown into a truck while sporting a jacket and a beanie in the middle of winter. Reliable insider Alex Perez revealed this specific sequence will be part of the movie's opening montage, which will reportedly showcase the friendly neighborhood hero fighting multiple different villains since the ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

With each passing battle, Peter is rumored to upgrade his suit, resulting in the fantastic costume we've seen in the trailers (and in the behind-the-scenes video). Villains who aren't really that popular compared to the rest of Spider-Man's rogues' gallery could be perfect candidates to show up in this opening montage. And since we know the movie's creative team will recreate comic book covers when Spidey goes against both Boomerang and Tarantula, it seems like a given that they will be part of this montage.

Most of the featurette focuses on the big set piece filmed on the streets of Glasgow. This practical stunt involved exploding cars, Tom Holland's Spider-Man atop a moving tank, and a Spidey stunt double attached to a moving rig that allowed him to "swing" through the streets. With CGI complaints becoming a recurring issue in superhero movies, it's nice to know that most of the action in Spider-Man: Brand New Day was filmed practically.

Last, but certainly not least, Marvel also revealed a new Spider-Man: Brand New Day poster that showcases Peter in his suit, unmasked, with a jacket on top. This is a new addition to the collection that already includes a poster showcasing Spidey's mask, with MJ's reflection on his lenses, and another poster that pits the wall-crawler against The Hand.

Now that marketing for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is in full swing, it shouldn't be long before a second trailer comes our way. However, the behind-the-scenes video certainly helps the wait feel a bit shorter.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released on July 31, 2026.
