After the release of Avengers: Endgame, fans questioned whether the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be able to maintain the same level of quality with the Multiverse Saga, and with good reason. The superhero giant eventually suffered a streak of failed projects, with shows like Secret Invasion releasing to very underwhelming critical receptions and big movies such as Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels failing to break even at the box office. Fortunately, things have finally been turning around in recent years.
The MCU had a return to form in 2025 thanks to projects like Thunderbolts*, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The streak kept going in 2026, with Wonder Man and Daredevil: Born Again season 2 winning over fans' hearts. Better yet, exciting projects are on the horizon, with Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday being definite standouts. So, now that we're back in the golden days of superhero projects, we can't wait to figure out what awaits after the release of Avengers: Secret Wars, and we finally have a good idea of what to expect.

Marvel is reportedly planning a Daredevil movie where Spider-Man could make an appearance
Back in 2003, the Devil of Hell's Kitchen made his cinematic debut, but things didn't quite go as expected. The original Daredevil movie was released to poor critical reception, and it wouldn't be until 2015 that the Man Without Fear would make a live-action appearance again, this time thanks to a Netflix series. From that point onwards, Matt Murdock has taken over the small screen, and rumor has it that he's about to do the same on the big screen.
According to insider That REDACTED Guy, Marvel is considering developing a Daredevil movie that would serve to wrap up the storyline built in the first three seasons of Born Again. Furthermore, Spider-Man could appear in the project, finally giving fans the team-up they have been wanting to see for years now.

This isn't the first time we've heard that Marvel wants to do a big street-level crossover movie with characters such as Daredevil and Spider-Man, along with other fan-favorites such as Jessica Jones, the Punisher, Luke Cage, Danny Rand, and more. This project would serve as the culmination of the ongoing Devil's Reign storyline adaptation that started back during Hawkeye season 1 and has been at the center of the spotlight in Daredevil: Born Again.
Currently, Wilson Fisk is targeting many "vigilantes" living in New York, and he will stop at nothing to capture them and put them behind bars (or worse). Furthermore, The Hand will make an appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and the criminal organization is usually associated with Daredevil stories. As if that wasn't enough, Frank Castle is set to join forces with the wall-crawler later this year. There are already a lot of connections between these characters, so it wouldn't be hard for Marvel to bring them together in one Avengers-level film.
Thanks to set photos of Daredevil: Born Again season 3, we know that The Defenders are bound to assemble on the small screen once more, likely to deal with the repercussions of the Kingpin's actions as New York's mayor. Furthermore, the finale of Born Again season 1 included a hidden Spider-Man easter egg that teases that the friendly neighborhood hero will eventually join this grim and dark world controlled by Wilson Fisk.
Speaking of highly anticipated team-ups, the report also mentions that Marvel is exploring the idea of Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four joining forces as well, as has been the case countless times in the comic book world. Now that a new Saga is upon us after the release of Avengers: Secret Wars, Marvel will likely want to kick things off with a bang, so doing big crossovers is definitely one way to go. Fortunately, it won't be long before we discover what the MCU has in store for its street-level characters.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is now streaming on Disney+.
