In just two short months, Doomsday will descend on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After years of intense storytelling (and some reworked storylines along the way), Marvel Studios has found itself at the boiling point that it was all building towards: Avengers: Doomsday.
The fifth Avengers movie, this one features the high-profile return of Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU franchise. However, he won't be playing his legendary Iron Man role; he will, instead, be portraying the Multiverse Saga's main villain Doctor Doom. And with minor teases in both The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Avengers Endgame: Encore, Marvel fans are officially ready to see him make his actual debut in the upcoming movie.
However, Earth's Mightiest Heroes will stand up to the villain as he attempts to rewrite the multiverse in his image. And now we have a brand new look at the line-up.
New Avengers: Doomsday promotional poster showcases the heroic roster
Marvel Studios has unveiled a brand new promotional poster for Avengers: Doomsday featuring a number of the core heroes that will take part in the movie. Although it isn't one of the primary, larger-than-life pieces of key art that are released to mark major occasions ahead of the film's release, it does feature official artwork from the film, including official renders of the respective characters.
Before we go on, you can check out the poster below:

The artwork features quite the line-up of MCU heroes: Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards represents the Fantastic Four while Channing Tatum's Gambit is there to represent the X-Men. After that, we have Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson, a.k.a. Captain America, Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, a.k.a. Black Widow, Thor, Shuri's Black Panther and, finally, Ebon Moss-Bachrach's Ben Grimm, a.k.a. The Thing, also representing the Fantastic Four.
There are a couple of things to note about this poster: For starters, some of these character renders have already begun making their way across the internet as part of Avengers: Doomsday's marketing, so it looks like we'll be seeing a lot more of them on merchandise in the weeks and months ahead. And secondly, Yelena is front and center - once again highlighting how Marvel Studios is clearly committed to investing in that character for the future.
The leader of the Thunderbolts-turned-New Avengers, Yelena is the sister of original Avenger Natasha Romanoff and, as of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, she now goes by the moniker of Black Widow too. Undoubtedly one of the most successful "next generation" heroes of the franchise's Multiverse Saga, it's no surprise to see Yelena standing tall in the center - because that's really where she belongs.

It's also important to note that this is a different poster from the international one that surfaced earlier this week and features a larger collection of legendary MCU characters (including most of the Avengers also featured in this one). That one featured different renders of the heroes, along with Doctor Doom's head looming up above all of the heroes. It divided audiences, with some loving it and others not the biggest fans of it.
Regardless, all this Avengers: Doomsday discourse just means that the movie is getting closer. And we welcome more of that as the Doomsday clock ticks down until the movie's release. In the meantime, that new trailer we've all been waiting on wouldn't go a miss either!
Doom is coming and these heroes will stand up to him. We are ready!
Avengers: Doomsday arrives in movie theaters on December 18, 2026.
