It's just a matter of time before Earth's Mightiest Heroes meet their Doom. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently heading toward the end of its Multiverse Saga, meaning every project set to be released between now and Avengers: Secret Wars will be instrumental in shaping the future of the franchise. Despite that, the superhero giant is playing its cards close to the chest, refusing to go into too much detail about the movies and Disney+ shows coming our way soon.
While no trailer for Daredevil: Born Again season 3 has been released, we have a good idea of what to expect from the Man Without Fear's upcoming adventure thanks to set photos and videos that showcase that the Defenders will be back in action. Avengers: Doomsday is in a similar spot, where there's a lot of secrecy surrounding it, but fans have already gotten a glimpse behind the curtain courtesy of four teasers and the film's first official trailer.
However, there is one project with potentially far-reaching repercussions for the MCU that has been eluding us until now and couldn't stay in the shadows forever.
Marvel will reportedly release the first VisionQuest trailer at D23
It all started when the Scarlet Witch used her immeasurable powers to create two kids during the events of WandaVision. The magic continued in Agatha All Along, where Wanda's son, Wiccan, was desperate to reach the end of the Witches' Road to locate his missing brother. Now, this tale of tragedy and loss will come to an end with VisionQuest—a trilogy capper set to feature the appearance of Wanda's husband, Vision, and her second son, Speed.
According to insider The Beyond Reporter, Marvel will release the first VisionQuest trailer at Disney's fan event, D23, which is set to take place this week. Marvel's panel will be held on Friday, August 14, and it's easy to see why it's the perfect opportunity for the superhero giant to pull the curtain back on its next Disney+ show.
VisionQuest is set to be released on Oct. 14, 2026, which is just a little over two months from now. So far, the series' only trailer was released behind closed doors at New York Comic-Con 2025, but general audiences have yet to see any footage from the project. While it was widely theorized that Marvel would finally acknowledge the show during San Diego Comic-Con, the event came and went without any sign of Vision or Speed. With that in mind, all signs indicate D23 will finally put an end to the streak of secrecy.
VisionQuest will follow Marvel's iconic android as he tries to connect to the memories of who he once was. The show will feature its own version of Wanda's Hex, except this place is rumored to take place within Vision's mind. In there, audiences will see countless AIs in human form, including James Spader's Ultron, who hasn't been seen since the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron back in 2015.
Thanks to descriptions of the first VisionQuest trailer, we know that Speed is also bound to have a role to play. However, it remains to be seen how he will tie into the narrative and what will prompt him to cross paths with his father in the first place.
There may be more to VisionQuest than meets the eye. The WandaVision trilogy ender is the only place where we could get a hint about the Scarlet Witch's whereabouts heading into Avengers: Doomsday. Furthermore, multiple reports indicate that the Young Avengers will play an instrumental role in the culmination of the Multiverse Saga, and VisionQuest could not only feature the appearance of Speed but also Wiccan (who was last seen embarking on a journey to find his missing brother).
VisionQuest could lay the groundwork for the Young Avengers to assemble on the big screen and could also set up Vision as their mentor. Additionally, given that this is the last live-action MCU project set to be released before Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters, it wouldn't be far-fetched to assume the two could have some level of connection.
This week could be instrumental for Marvel fans, as D23 is also rumored to feature the X-Men cast announcement and a new Avengers: Doomsday trailer. But at this point, it's all but a given that VisionQuest will have some presence at the event, and we can't wait to see how it all pans out.
