We are just days away from what audiences are expecting to be one of the biggest Julys in box office history. This coming month will see Universal's Jurassic World Rebirth arrive in its first week, DC Studios' Superman premiere in its second, Sony's I Know What You Did Last Summer debut in its third, and Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps round things out in the fourth. Yep, a big summer indeed.

Although I Know What You Did Last Summer will undoubtedly perform well for the horror genre, one of the other three is expected to take the crown for the month (and potentially the year if things go their way). And with Fantastic Four coming out at the end of the month, there's a good possibility that it might benefit the most, particularly because the star-studded affair launches the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of an already well-known quartet of superheroes.

There's a lot of buzz surrounding this one and fans are ready to see what it entails (not-to-mention how it sets the stage for Avengers: Doomsday next year). Marvel has once again capitalized on that, releasing a third and final trailer for the movie to showcase just what all those fans can expect from it.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps trailer teases the film's storyline, offers new look at Galactus

Marvel Studios has released the third and final trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps and it offers up the most detailed look at the film yet. While much of the initial footage is similar to that of the previous two trailers, there are new clips intercut with the foursome's reintroduction. This allows us to see a new look at Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic and his stretching abilities (which had been mostly absent from the two other trailers).

There are also new looks at Vanessa Kirby's Sue Storm / Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn's Johnny Storm / Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach's Ben Grimm / The Thing, as the opening moments make a point to formally introduce each hero.

We are also reintroduced to the Silver Surfer, who arrives on the Fantastic Four's Earth to "herald" both its end and the arrival of Galactus. It's here where the new footage begins to dominate, as the heroic foursome seem to take it upon themselves to head to Galactus' base and officially catch sight of what they're up against for the first time. To call it larger-than-life would be an understatement.

As Galactus breaks loose from the structures surrounding him, the planet becomes unstable as Reed screams for Ben to get them out of there. The heroes return to their ship, which takes them safely back to Earth... but for how long?

The crux of the trailer is once again on the importance of family, which is what the Fantastic Four are all about. They literally are Marvel's First Family and it's clear that the MCU film intends on leaning into that more than the previous movies did, honing in on what truly makes them the iconic heroes that they are. And one element that will definitely allow the movie to lean into that is the birth of Franklin Richards, Sue and Reed's son.

This will be heroes' driving force as they attempt to come up with a solution to stop Galactus' impending arrival. Reed does the equations, but he's struggling to come up with a solution. But, as Sue reminds him (and all of us), they'll figure it out as a family.

The trailer really kicks into gear in the final 30 seconds as it showcases some of what we can expect when Galactus arrives. With new footage of his large feet and legs stomping through the city, the trailer highlights how the Fantastic Four will attempt to do everything in their power to stop their gigantic villain. Sue will seemingly put up a force field to prevent the destruction from making its way around the city (and the planet), allowing Reed, Johnny, and Ben inside to stop the dangers in there.

Meanwhile, Ben Grimm will struggle with the reputation that the apparent Fantastic Four cartoon has created for him, reminding people that he doesn't really say "It's clobberin' time!". But when Johnny - who seemingly jokes with him throughout the movie about the catchphrase - attempts to drop him into the action in what appears to be the film's final act, will he feel the urge to utter those iconic words?

Although much of The Fantastic Four: First Steps' plot remains a mystery, this trailer has offered up a vague look at the three acts of the movie. It seems that the quartet of heroes, celebrities for their heroics, will be experiencing the highs and lows of being the stars that they are when the arrival of the Silver Surfer changes everything. In the hopes of bringing the fight to Galactus and saving the world before it's truly in danger, they will seemingly attempt to confront him on his home turf in space. But upon realizing what they are up against, they will retreat and try to come up with a plan to stop him.

When Galactus arrives, however, it will be time to put that plan into action. The question is: Can they pull it off and stop the Devourer of Worlds from truly eating their planet? And how will the events of the heavily-anticipated movie lead into the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, when the Fantastic Four will team with the Avengers in a bid to stop their comic book archenemy Doctor Doom from eradicating - or rehsaping - the multiverse?

Whatever happens, we're ready for the adventures that await from the MCU!

The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives in movie theaters on July 25, 2025.
