Of all the Marvel Studios projects on the horizon, Vision Quest might be the most intriguing of them. We'd argue that it's down to its unique premise or interesting plot, but we genuinely don't know what it's about or what to expect from it, and that makes it incredibly exciting. Remember, this is from the same trilogy of Marvel Cinematic Universe shows as WandaVision and Agatha All Along, and look at how well both of those turned out. Expectations are understandably high for this one as a result of that.
Paul Bettany will reprise his role as The Vision, who we last saw in WandaVision when he evolved into the White Vision. Bettany actually played two versions of the character in that one: A magically-created figment of the sitcom that Wanda Maximoff crafted in Westview and the real, resurrected iteration who became the White Vision. The long-awaited spinoff will catch us up with the latter iteration, and potentially set the stage for another Disney Plus spinoff series in the future.
Although Vision Quest is on the horizon, that doesn't mean we should be preparing for it to arrive on-screens in the coming months.
Vision Quest isn't expected to premiere until mid - late 2026
Vision Quest has been confirmed for a 2026 release, but Marvel Television has yet to narrow down a specific release date. That could be down to the fact that the studio would prefer to hold the date back until shortly before the show's actual premiere, but the more likely reason is that it simply won't be arriving on Disney Plus anytime in the near-future.
Reliable Marvel insider Alex Perez recently backed this up in a Q&A with fans (via The Cosmic Circus), telling readers that the show will likely release between movies Spider-Man: Brand New Day (which arrives in movie theaters on July 31, 2026) and Avengers: Doomsday (which arrives in movie theaters on December 18, 2026), making a mid-late 2026 release date inevitable.

If you were still doubtful about that, Marvel Studios' own TV calendar is looking pretty stacked in the early part of the year. Wonder Man is expected in December of this year, but there is the possibility that some of those episodes could spill over into January. Furthermore, the studio is gearing up to officially enact its annual release strategy for its ongoing multi-season shows, so that makes the chances of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 premiering in January or February pretty likely (as the first season held down those weeks earlier this year).
Furthermore, we know that the second season of Daredevil: Born Again is coming in March as Marvel's Head of Television, Streaming, and Animation Brad Winderbaum confirmed that. So there is no chance of Vision Quest airing anywhere close to that one as Marvel now prefers to space its live-action shows out. And with just two coming next year, you can bet that Daredevil and Vision Quest will be far apart.
The summer might be a little more open but there is another project we have to factor in and that would also likely rule Vision Quest out. The project in question is none other than The Punisher's untitled Special Presentation, which stars Jon Bernthal in the titular role (which he reprises from the Netflix series, as well as Daredevil: Born Again). We know that Bernthal will also be starring in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, so it's likely that Frank Castle's journey to that point will include the special, meaning that it will likely come first.

That leaves just X-Men '97 season 2 and Vision Quest for the second half of the year. The truth is that either one of those could work in any order, so there is no way of knowing which one will come first. That being said, if Vision's series ends up having any kind of impact on Avengers: Doomsday, it would likely be released first, perhaps suggesting a September - October release date for that one.
The truth is that Vision Quest could release anytime between August and November, but we can likely rule December out of the equation entirely as Marvel Studios will undoubtedly want to reserve that attention solely for the MCU extravaganza that is Avengers: Doomsday. And just listing all of these titles out like this has just highlighted how stacked a year 2026 is going to be for the MCU! We're so ready!
Vision Quest, of course, stars Bettany as the beloved Vision, but he'll also be joined by fellow MCU returnee James Spader, who brings Ultron back to screens. Todd Stashwick also stars as Paladin while Ruaridh Mollica plays Tucker (who is heavily rumored to be Tommy Maximoff, a.k.a. Speed - the son of Wanda and Vision, and brother of Billy / Wiccan). Emily Hampshire portrays E.D.I.T.H. while Orla Brady brings F.R.I.D.A.Y. to life.
