9. Batman Forever

This one might come as a bit of a surprise to you given that Batman Forever's reputation precedes it, but the mixed response to the movie doesn't change the fact that it's arguably the most romantic Batman movie ever made. Yes, we've seen the Caped Crusader have a number of love interests on the big (and small) screen over the years, but never has a movie truly prioritized his love life in the way that this one did.

Batman Forever deals with the duality of Bruce Wayne, as the man behind the mask is still questioning himself about who he is and what he does. That journey takes him to criminal psychologist Chase Meridian, with whom he falls deeply in love with. She too feels a strong connection when she is with him; the only problem is that she thinks she has a stronger connection with Batman, who she becomes infatuated with.

So the Dark Knight must battle the goofy twosome of Two-Face and The Riddler while contending with his feelings for Chase. Dr. Meridian is busy chasing Batman because he fascinates her and she is unable to see that the man of her dreams - or the man behind the mask - is standing right in front of her. It's very dramatic and lustful in a way that most Batman love stories are not (it's also very '90s, so it's very over-the-top) and yet Batman Forever succeeds in giving Bruce a romance that promises to silence the doubts in his head.
