8 cameos we want to see in Deadpool and Wolverine
By Mark Lynch
Fans have waited for Deadpool and Wolverine to team up since the botched effort in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and it’s finally happening. What started with a joke teaser turned into a movie that will probably make fans cry. I teared up when Dafne Keen appeared in the final trailer (you can watch it below). No one saw that coming. People may have wanted to be surprised during Deadpool and Wolverine, but there’s no way she’s the only shocking Marvel Comics character we’ll see.
But who else would we like to see appear in the movie? Let's dive into that, discussing some of the heroes we'd like to see cross paths with Marvel's most chaotic duo.
Before we begin, here are the characters, cameos and returns that have been confirmed so far via trailers and reports.
- Ema Corrin as Cassandra Nova
- Tyler Mane as Sabretooth
- Dafne Keen as Laura Kinney
- Jennifer Garner as Elektra
- Ray Park as Toad
- Yuriko Oyama / Lady Deathstrike (may or may not be played by Kelly Hu)
- Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15
- Aaron Standford as Pyro
- Scott Lang (kind of)
But which other characters would we like to see appear? Let's discuss!
Storm
Deadpool and Wolverine will likely adapt aspects of the Old Man Logan story. If that’s the case, we might even see Logan kill the X-Men. Instead of Logan holding Jubilee as she dies, it could be Storm (and if so, probably Halle Berry). If that happens it will be one of the saddest moments of the movie. When Storm uses the, “Why are you doing this” line there won’t be a dry eye in the theater.
Mystique
Rebecca Romijn doesn’t get enough credit for her part in the original X-Men franchise. She was everything Mystique was in the comics minus the guns. However, she was so slick and cool that she didn’t need them. It would be nice to see her and Deadpool interact so he can acknowledge her greatness.
Daredevil
It doesn’t matter if it’s Ben Affleck or Charlie Cox, but the former would be cool. Jennifer Garner is expected to return as Elektra. That makes the likelihood of Ben Affleck’s Daredevil appearing quite high. Of course, if that's the case, Deadpool will joke about Daredevil looking like Batman, and Matt Murdock will have no idea what he’s talking about.
Madisynn
Madisynn was one of the most popular characters in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Having her watch TV and eat popcorn with Wong made her more loveable. Now, picture that with Deadpool. It’s an end or mid-credit scene and they’re eating popcorn in their onesies and talking about a show they love. Who wouldn’t want to see that?
The Chris trio
Not Thor, Star-Lord, and Steve Rogers. This writer means Chris Evans, Pratt, and Hemsworth. How great would it be for Wade to see them and not acknowledge that they’re real people? Especially Hemsworth. Wade Wilson has stated he has a crush on Thor in the comics and he definitely has one in the movie universe.
The Fantastic Four
Michael Chiklis said he wasn’t reprising his Fantastic Four role as Ben Grimm, a.k.a. The Thing, in Deadpool and Wolverine, but that doesn't necessarily mean he won't have some kind of involvement. Tatiana Maslany, Andrew Garfield, and Paul Rudd denied playing roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe only to star in Marvel Studios projects.
The only person people would love more is Jessica Alba's Invisible Woman. She's already stated she would "jump at the chance" to play her again. Maybe that was a subtle hint that she's in Deadpool and Wolverine.
Alba has been rumored for a return, alongside MCU veteran Chris Evans, who is rumored to be playing his Fantastic Four role of Johnny Storm, a.k.a. The Human Torch. So there is a possibility that we could see some of the Fantastic Four return to our screens in the film.
The Hulks
There’s only one fight people want to see more than Wolverine vs Deadpool and it’s Wolverine fighting the Hulk. If the plan is for Deadpool and Wolverine to kill the 20th Century Fox Marvel universe, the Hulk will probably be Eric Bana. Yes, Hulk was a Universal Pictures movie, but no one will care as long as Logan fights a Hulk.
Then there’s She-Hulk. Jennifer Walters broke the fourth wall long before Deadpool attacked the New Mutants. She did it again throughout her show, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Why wouldn't she pop up in this movie?
If the news article in her show was any indication (episode 2), Wolverine is already in the MCU. Maybe we’ll see the fight scene that was mentioned.
Doctor Strange
Lastly, we come to a theory. The portal Logan and Wade are jumping into looks like something Doctor Strange or Wong would make. That could mean they’re jumping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If I had to guess, it was during the big fight during Avengers: Endgame. The heroes needed all the help they could get and Wolverine and Deadpool are the perfect people to help. Stay tuned to Bam Smack Pow to see if that’s the case.
