Marvel is reportedly considering renewing multiple shows for second seasons, but don't be expecting to find any of these ones to be on that list.

Marvel Studios has been shifting things around in a way that the studio just isn't used to doing. After its first financial underperformers at the box office in its almost two decades of existence, Kevin Feige and co. have been taking steps to ensure that the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn't experience any more misses like 2023's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels. That includes less yearly releases and a greater focus on projects guaranteed to be successful.

It also might include making decisions on its countless Disney Plus series that they've been vague about ever since they were released. This is seemingly related to their new strategy of being more sure of their successes, and that is expected to include some clarity about the future of some of those MCU shows. According to reports, some might even get a second season as Marvel is set to invest in its already-successful shows, turning some of them into multiseason TV shows instead of one-and-done miniseries. It's all part of the overhaul to its TV arm, now known as Marvel Television.

There are already reports that shows such as Moon Knight and Hawkeye will return for a second season each. The former was always expected to return as the rumors have persisted since its 2022 release, but the the latter was surprising as Hawkeye told a contained story that seemingly ended with the retirement of its protagonist. And yet, multiple insiders are reporting that the studio is quietly developing another installment, potentially even along with another season of Ms. Marvel too.

Those reports have yet to be confirmed by Marvel itself, but things are looking particularly good for the future of those shows. That said, don't get too excited about Marvel's new "season 2 era" as not all of the Disney Plus shows will be returning for a continuation.

From definitive miniseries that can't come back to reported cancellations, here are some MCU shows we shouldn't expect to see a season 2 of.
