Superman and Lois is about to kick off its final season, so here are a few things to remember from the Season 3 finale!

When Superman and Lois season 4 ends, it will also be the end of the Arrowverse. After 12 years, the epic franchise that gave DC heroes their biggest limelight will finally close out, mostly thanks to the mess happening behind the scenes at The CW. It’s a bittersweet farewell, even if the show still has a lot to offer.

Season 3 was notable for the show as Superman (Tyler Hochelin) faced challenges while Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) fought cancer. There was also the introduction of a leaner, meaner Lex Luthor (Michael Cudlitz), who ironically had a bigger beef with Clark and Lois than with Superman. As fans get ready for Superman and Lois season 4 (which sadly has a big cast exodus), here are a few things to remember from the Season 3 finale.

Kyle and Chrissy ended up together

After teasing a relationship as just a fling, Lana’s ex-husband Kyle Cushing and Lois’ reporter ally Chrissy Beppo started a serious relationship, which progressed quite quickly over the course of season 3. Chrissy also learned that she was pregnant, and Kyle took it surprisingly well. So well that at a town meeting in the season 3 finale, he proposed to Chrissy, who accepted.

Lana and the rest of Kyle's family also accepted the couple. While Erik Valdez and Sofia Hasmik will return in season 4 as special guest stars, they won't appear in all of the episodes, so this was a fun way to send the characters off on a happier note.

Jordan went public as a hero

After keeping his Kryptonian powers quiet for secret rescues, Jordan Kent was forced to go out in public to help save people when a tornado hit Smallville. While he kept his face hidden, the public now knew there was a “Superboy” about. Jordan also tried to make up with ex-girlfriend Sarah Cortez, who had discovered the Kents’ secret. They eventually decided to at least remain friends as Jordan tries to learn more about being a hero from his dad while Jonathan continues his own career as a firefighter.

With this season adapting one of the most infamous Superman stories of all time and Lex Luthor having arrived on the scene, the town of Smallville may need Jordan more than ever.

The Irons family got a sendoff

Forever and Always

The good news is that at last, John Henry Irons and Lana Lang hooked up. The bad news is that this came after John Henry was offered a job working for the DOD making weapons. That would require him to move to Metropolis, with Natalie agreeing to attend college there with boyfriend Matteo. They also hoped to get their Steelworks company going. While they will appear in a number of episodes, Wolé Parks and Tayler Buck are no longer series regulars, robbing us of more of the delightful John Henry and Natalie Irons (as well as John Henry and Lana's chemistry).

Sam was abducted

After various ups and downs, Sam Lane thought his life was looking up as he went on an online date with a woman he met on a dating app. Her name was Gretchen and she seemed like the perfect match for him. It's too bad she ended up working for Luthor, who abducted Sam and took him to parts unknown.

Although actor Dylan Walsh originally didn't plan on returning to Superman and Lois for its final season after the cast cuts, he has agreed to appear in two of the season's 10 episodes. And with that, hopefully, we get some closure to both this storyline and his character arc, as that’s a pretty big cliffhanger bit to leave off on.

Enter Doomsday

After being released from prison, Lex Luthor embarked on his true plan. He found the Inverse Superman (a.k.a. Bizarro) and proceeded to kill the creature over and over, with it growing stronger every time. When Superman confronted him, Luthor revealed the ultimate nightmare: Doomsday.

The monster and Superman battled through Smallville and into Metropolis, with the Man of Steel impaling Doomsday. But that just brought him back tougher than before. Eventually, Superman brought him to the moon and the final shot had them ready to battle again.

Thus, Superman & Lois sets up an even bigger and bolder Season 4 and the show is ready to go out in a blaze of glory.

Superman & Lois Season 4 premieres Monday, October 7 at 8/7c on the CW
