8 WandaVision characters we hope to see in Agatha All Along

We know Emma Caulfield and Debra Jo Rupp are set to join Kathryn Hahn in Agatha All Along, but what other Wandavision characters might turn up in the spin-off?

Marvel's newest Halloween offering is Agatha All Along, the witchy WandaVision spin-off that has been in the works since the titular song took off in 2021. The story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series is expected to follow Agatha Harkness as she tries to get her powers back, with a quirky coven of witches by her side. But precisely how she gets there is still to be seen.

Agatha All Along will seemingly begin with Agatha stuck in Westview, where we last saw her. And while the story is going to take her to wildly different settings, we know that some of her neighbors will be joining in. Emma Caulfield Ford and Debra Jo Rupp are both set to reprise their roles in the spinoff, with Rupp's character even joining Agatha's coven.

While it's clear that the new Disney Plus series is going to be its own thing, there's no doubt that WandaVision will be relevant, both through Agatha's experiences and what it means for the world as a whole. Between the Westview anomaly and the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the doors to the multiverse have opened, and the most powerful force of magic rose and fell.

With all of this in mind, it's reasonable to assume that we will see some familiar faces returning from WandaVision. Here are the eight Wandavision characters that we want to see most. As a warning, some of these 'characters' weren't actually people when they showed up in WandaVision. But anything's possible when you venture down the Witches' Road.

Tyler Hayward

Tyler Hayward is one of the only prominent characters in WandaVision to not have much spin-off potential, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't. When the series ended, he was arrested by the FBI, but to become the Director of S.W.O.R.D., he had to have friends in some very high places. Actor Josh Stamberg said he hopes to bring the character back in the MCU in the future, and why not in Agatha All Along?

Although Hayward was focused on AI and sentient weapons in WandaVision, perhaps his experiences have led him to think of magic users as sentient weapons too. Agatha attacked S.W.O.R.D., so she's on his radar, and his forces directly faced Wanda's children. There's certainly a chance that he manages to weasel his way out of prison, start a new agency (possibly W.A.N.D., the magical subsection of S.H.I.E.L.D. in the comics), and pursue Agatha from there.

Evanora Harkness

Agatha and her coven are set to go down the Witches' Road, and that provides fans with the opportunity to learn more about Agatha's past. In the comics, the Witches' Road can mess with time, previously giving Wanda the chance to interact with her mother. Why shouldn't Agatha have a similar experience?

Audiences first saw Agatha's mother in a flashback in Wandavision, when she turned on her own daughter. But what was their relationship like before that? It would be great to see the character brought back, as both Agatha and her mother have reason to be upset with each other. If they had to work together to survive the journey, it could add a new layer to a character that otherwise has little depth.

Harold Proctor

Originally going by the name Phil Jones, Harold was one of the many Westview residents who was trapped under the Hex. When Agatha released them from the spell, Harold was part of the mob that confronted Wanda—and got strangled when she couldn't handle it. This moment made her realize how bad her actions had been, leading her to remove the spell altogether.

But why do I want to see this character back? It honestly has more to do with his name than anything. Agatha was in Salem in 1693, which means she lived through the Salem Witch Trials. Over the course of the hysteria, five Proctors were accused of witchcraft, along with several of their relatives, with two becoming famous through their central roles in Arthur Miller's The Crucible.

All of that being said, it seems likely that his name is no coincidence. Harold Proctor is likely a descendant of the Salem Proctors, who was then controlled and attacked by a witch himself. There could be a fascinating arc for him, either discovering witchcraft in his bloodline or becoming a witch hunter, which might be explored more as Agatha builds her own coven.

The Darkhold

In WandaVision, Agatha uses the Darkhold as a way to amplify her power enough to manipulate and fight the Scarlet Witch. It becomes more prominent in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, when it corrupts Wanda and pushes her to tear through the multiverse in search of her children. In the end, Agatha's version was destroyed by Sara Wolfe, and Wanda destroyed every other version, throughout the multiverse.

Or did she? The Darkhold is notoriously hard to get rid of for good, and recent comics provide a possible route for Agatha All Along to pursue. In the Contest of Chaos arc in 2023, Agatha pitted heroes against each other to create a new Darkhold. While she seemed to fail, she actually managed to create the Darkhold in human form.

It's rare for something so recent in comics to become part of the cinematic universe, but it's not impossible. When Agatha begins her quest to regain her original power, might she actually run into a young boy who is the Darkhold? It's a long shot, but not impossible, possibly providing an alternate identity for Joe Locke's Teen.

Ralph Bohner

When Evan Peters first appeared in WandaVision, fans were eager for his role to be the introduction of the X-Men to the MCU. Unfortunately, he ended up being little more than a red herring with a crude joke of a name. However, Monica learned that he actually owned Agatha's house, so there are a lot of questions to be asked now that Agatha has been living there for another three years.

The character of Agnes was supposedly married to Ralph, but he was freed from all spells at the end of the series. So, with Agatha trapped in her Agnes persona, has Ralph just been playing along? Are they housemates? Has he been physically affected by being under both the Hex and Agatha's spell, which gave him access to Pietro's super speed?

In some ways, Ralph not being Pietro was even more confusing than if he had been. But since Evan Peters is supposedly going to be in Agatha All Along, it could allow us to learn more about who Ralph is and how he's been dealing with all the witchy shenanigans over the last three years.

Señor Scratchy

Okay, so this isn't a character, per say, but that doesn't mean it can't be in the future. In Wandavision, Agatha has a pet rabbit that appears while she is pretending to be Agnes and when she reveals herself to Wanda, prompting many fans to wonder if it was her familiar, or some other force in disguise. Who can forget all of the guesses about which character was secretly Mephisto?

However, it seems likely that the character will be back in Agatha All Along, perhaps with a more prominent role. After all, Joe Locke's Teen has been described as a human familiar, which might cause conflicts with Agatha's more standard animal familiar. Alternatively, we could learn that he was human in the beginning too, which could offer a grim future for the Teen.

I, for one, would love to see the return of Señor Scratchy, particularly if he is used as a way of expanding the mystical worldbuilding. Whether he is Agatha's assistant, a source of power, or just an animal she feels a special kinship toward, he creates a lot of potential for developing her character and the MCU's specific version of witchcraft.

Scarlet Witch: Wanda Maximoff

Given that Agatha All Along is an explicit spin-off from WandaVision, it's reasonable to assume that Wanda might be making an appearance. Although the official stance is that Wanda is dead after the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Agatha is experiencing some kind of flashbacks in the trailers, which makes for an easy way to bring Elizabeth Olsen back.

More than that, however, some fans have theorized that Agatha's coven will find Wanda at the end of the Witches' Road. Whether this is because of her status as the Scarlet Witch, her children's stories, or Agatha's is currently unknown, but it seems like a reasonable possibility. Given how many fans love the character, it seems highly unlikely that the Scarlet Witch will be gone for good.

There's so much potential for her story to continue, and Agatha All Along seems like the perfect place to resurrect it. Yes, Agatha and Wanda are enemies, but their comic counterparts have a history of working together, and Agatha even cast a spell to make Wanda forget her lost sons. Could this series end with the two working together? Olsen's comments on the subject certainly don't reject that theory.

Wiccan: Billy Kaplan/Maximoff

Perhaps the most anticipated arrival in Agatha All Along is the one that most people think they already have figured out. The new series's plot seems to be largely driven by the arrival of a new character whose name is being hidden, and fans are pretty sure he is Wanda's son, Billy.

In the comics, Wanda created sons for herself and Vision, but their souls were taken by Mephisto. However, Wanda's magic made it possible for them to come back, with her son William taking on new life as Billy Kaplan. Without his mother to train him in his powers, Billy was lost and confused, eventually finding a new family in his boyfriend Teddy Altman and a new identity as Wiccan with the Young Avengers.

The mysterious teenager played by Joe Locke in Agatha All Along seems certain to be Billy, based on his looks, his status as a gay magic user, and the developing Young Avengers team in the larger MCU. As a fan-favorite character, particularly for LGBT+ fans, Billy's formal introduction as Wiccan is one that audiences eagerly anticipate.

Agatha All Along premieres on September 18 on Disney+.
