My Adventures with Superman recently concluded its second season on July 21, with the addition of Supergirl to the main cast of the show. The second season was a roller coaster ride that didn't let up until the very end, but along the way, there were revelations and easter eggs that could point to what comes next for Clark and his allies in future seasons.

My Adventures with Superman creators tease new villlains

During the My Adventures with Superman panel at SDCC 2024, executive producers Jake Wyatt, Josie Campbell, and Brendan Clogher unveiled the new threats to Superman and crew that they'll have to face in season three of the show (which doesn't have a release date as of this posting).

While there are some familiar faces, such as Amanda Waller, Deathstroke, and Lex Luthor (now with his signature bald head) among others, the newcomer to the villain lineup is none other than Cyborg Superman. Cyborg Superman has already made his presence known in the form of Hank Henshaw, his civilian identity in the first episode of the second season, where he made his negative views on Superman known rather quickly.

The executive producers didn't make it clear who out of this group is going to be the big bad of season three, but it's clear that Clark and friends have a lot to handle going forward in season three.

Looking back on season 2

To give a brief rundown of the latest season, Superman and friends are dealing with the fallout that occurred at the end of season 1, with Amanda Waller and Task Force X still hellbent on eliminating Superman and anyone who stands with him, even if they're human or otherwise. While still dealing with Waller, team Superman has a new element they must be content with: the arrival of Supergirl.

She comes to Earth looking for her cousin in order for him to join in her "father's" efforts to expand the Kryptonian empire. A fight ensues between cousins after Superman wants nothing to do with being a conquerer, in which he is defeated and taken to meet Kara's "father". Her father is none other than Brainiac, the big bad of the season now finally revealed. It's revealed that all the planets that Brainiac conquered and left in peace are actually destroyed due to them not wanting to cow-tow to Brainiac.

To add insult to injury, Supergirl was mind-controlled by Brainiac to enact his will, being the destroyer of all the planets they conquered. Supergirl was a firm believer in what Brainiac was doing, but after finding out that he not only annihilated all those people but used her to his own twisted ends, she joins Team Superman in the fight against Brainiac when he sets his sights on Earth. Eventually, team Superman triumphs, with Supergirl now firmly in the main cast of the show going forward.

Supergirl: Enemy of All?

Brainiac used Supergirl as his weapon of mass destruction on all the planets he came across, and there were some planets that might've looked very familiar to DC fans. One of the planets that Supergirl goes to in order to investigate whether Brainiac had been lying to her or not in season two episode six of the show, and one planet, in particular, is named Thanagar, home to the winged superheroes Hawkman and Hawkgirl.

In the same episode, Brainiac tries to break down Superman by invading his mind, and through that, Brainiac forces Superman to fight some of the people he conquered. There were three of them in total, one being an unnamed Thanagarian warrior, and the other two were an unnamed Green Lantern and a Parademon. The show never stated outright that all the planets Brainiac destroyed also involved the death of the races that inhabited them, so there could be potential for these groups to reappear later down the line of the show. If these factions survived, not knowing that Supergirl was under Brainiac's control when she destroyed their planets, they could potentially form an alliance whose sole purpose is the destruction of Supergirl for what she did.

This could not only expand the world of My Adventures with Superman, but it could promise new and exciting threats to the main cast, such as the possibility of having Darkseid be a potential big bad in later seasons. It's not confirmed if any one of these factions (if they're still alive) will appear in season three, but the creators could fall back on the idea of Supergirl's past to catch up with her for future storylines.

Both seasons of My Adventures with Superman are streaming on MAX.

What do you think? Could we see The Green Lantern Corps, Darkseid, or even the New Gods in later seasons? Would these factions unite against Supergirl?
