Stranger Things deaths have hit us hard (and we're worried the biggest death is still to come)
Although there haven’t been as many deaths as some fans feel there should have been by now, Stranger Things has served up some of TV’s most emotional deaths of the last decade.
There’s no denying the show has had its share of heartbreaking deaths; however, the running theme has been the show seeming to only want to kill off newly introduced characters. While there have been many fake-out deaths involving the biggest characters on the show, most of the more heartbreaking deaths have been characters we met at the beginning of the season.
Essentially, the Duffer Brothers introduce a new character, such as Bob or Eddie, make us fall in love with the character over the course of the season, and then kill the character off at some point in the season or during the finale. This has been a point of much debate among fans, with some feeling that while the show has killed off beloved characters, it’s avoided killing off any key main characters from the central ensemble.
For that reason, fans are fearful that the show’s biggest deaths are still to come in the final episodes of the series. With the show racing towards the finish line, it would make sense for the show to finally kill off a bigger character who has been on the show for more than a season. This has fans understandably worried that fan-favorite characters such as Steve, Eleven, Will, Robin, and Hopper, to name a few, could be in grave danger.
Although there is a real fear among fans, there is a good chance that the show ends without any of the core characters dying. If the writers avoided killing off major characters across the show, we have to question whether they have any intention of killing off a key character in the final season. Maybe they’ll surprise us, but the odds seem low.
