On March 26, Marvel broke the internet yet again by officially announcing the cast of the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday. The reveal came in the form of a five-hour livestream where audiences slowly learned the names of the many iconic actors set to reprise their roles in the biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover to date. There were some shocking surprises in store, such as the confirmation that Ian McKellen will return as Magneto, along with Rebecca Romijn as Mystique. However, even amongst all the excitement, we couldn't help but feel like something was missing.

Fans were quick to theorize that some big names are being saved for a later date — either for the movie's premiere or for an event such as Comic Con. After all, Marvel wouldn't reveal every single character set to appear in the movie during one single day, right? Such an idea was only reinforced when the official Marvel Studios Instagram account said that—despite the 27 casting announcements—there is always room for more. So don't worry if your favorite hero wasn't a part of the initial reveal; there's still hope.

The only question remaining is: Who else will join in the fight against Doctor Doom? Well, there are some seemingly obvious choices here and there, such as Spider-Man. But to save us from spending entire days theorizing, a new report might've revealed who else is suiting up on the big screen, and it couldn't get any better.

Spider-Man, Daredevil, and more will reportedly appear in Avengers: Doomsday

According to renowned insider account, HolyField News, some of the names that have yet to be revealed for the cast of Avengers: Doomsday are the following:

  • Tom Holland as Spider-Man
  • Charlie Cox as Daredevil
  • Chris Evans
  • Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye
  • Damson Idris
  • Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop
  • Chris Pratt as Star Lord
  • Mark Ruffalo as Hulk
  • Shawn Ashmore as Iceman
  • Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch
  • Sadie Sink
  • Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau
  • Brie Larson as Captain Marvel
  • Owen Wilson as Mobius

On one hand, we have some expected returns such as that of Spidey, Star Lord, Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Mobius. On the other hand, there are shocking surprises too, such as Daredevil and Kate Bishop who are finally joining the big leagues. Last but not least, there are also some actors whose roles aren't so evident. Chris Evans could either be back as a multiversal variant of Captain America or the Human Torch, while the presence of Sadie Sink could reinforce the popular idea that she could be cast as Jean Grey (even if nothing's set in stone yet). But what about Damson Idris?

Marvel artist Mushk Rizvi—who has worked on multiple MCU projects like Ms. Marvel—accidentally revealed concept art that was presumed to be for Avengers: Doomsday. While the Russo brothers have since stated that those illustrations aren't from their upcoming movie, it's also worth noting that Marvel was quick to take them down — a move that could mean they are real and weren't meant to be seen by fans. Well, one of the arts displayed a multiversal variant of T'Challa's Black Panther. And wouldn't you know it, but previous rumors indicated Damson Idris would portray this new iteration of the character.

It seems Avengers: Doomsday will not only introduce brand new (and big) characters on the screen, but it will also give the spotlight to a few Marvel veterans along the way. If Spider-Man and Daredevil end up making an appearance, then fans could get a glimpse of the team-up they've been asking for years now. Furthermore, Monica Rambeau could have a big role to play considering that she's currently trapped in an alternate reality where the X-Men exist. Perhaps she'll be the one that will cause an incursion between the world where Mutants reign and the MCU — an event that could prompt the events of both Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars.

Perhaps one of the most anticipated MCU comebacks is that of Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch. Sure, her character seemingly died (off-screen, mind you) during the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, it's just a matter of time before she steals the spotlight once again, and Avengers: Doomsday is looking like the most likely place to do so. While Elizabeth was noticeably absent from Marvel's initial casting reveal, let's hope that her official announcement comes sooner rather than later.

Avengers: Doomsday will be released on May 1, 2026.
