This has been a banner year for Robert Pattinson. Pattinson's career has grown steadily over the past two decades, but this was probably when he peaked as a performer. After Dune: Part Three releases in December, the British actor will have starred in four highly successful films this year, including The Odyssey, The Drama, and Primetime. He remains humble despite the Oscar buzz for his performances in The Odyssey and Primetime and early Oscar buzz for his role as Scytale in Dune: Part Three. Pattinson told GamesRadar+ that "to get these movies in the first place is awesome."

The British thespian describes himself as anxious and says he faced his insecurities as a performer by never playing the same character twice. Seeking variety in roles has landed him the reputation of a versatile performer. He's been praised for his ability to learn accents and change his voice according to the role.

Pattinson often goes back and forth between a British accent and an American accent because of the variety of characters he plays. While he's grateful for his work this year, he admits disbelief at his own success. He says, "And for them all to be working, I'm like, 'How is this happening?'" He believes "it's a miracle," that everything project he's been in this year has clicked with audiences and critics.

When he was asked how he switches between roles and whether he carried his Chris Hansen accent into Dune: Part Three, where he's playing Scytale, Pattinson explained, "Probably not in Dune," but "I pretty much went directly to The Odyssey from the day I wrapped Primetime. Normally, I don't find it particularly difficult to go between accents—from my normal accent to whatever accent I'm doing. But I found Chris' accent—or my version of Chris' accent—so difficult to do that I was constantly practicing it all the time."

As someone who gained fame from movies made for a young audience, it took time for Robert Pattinson to make an impression on men and women of all ages. Despite not being taken seriously early in his career, Pattinson doubled down on taking up interesting and challenging roles. His constant hunger to prove himself and seek out the most gifted directors is something aspiring actors can learn from. If he wins an Oscar for one of his performances this year, it will feel earned.

Robert Pattinson will be seen next in Dune: Part Three, which hits theaters on December 18.
