It's been over 16 years since the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which means that audiences have seen no shortage of live-action heroes suit up and save the day to this date. Street-level icons, like Spider-Man and Daredevil, have taken over our hearts with multiple adventures on the big and small screens. Unknown cosmic characters, such as the Guardians of the Galaxy, took everyone by surprise and became fan favorites in a heartbeat. Supernatural protectors such as Moon Knight have slowly started to make their debut and are now ready to take over the MCU's next saga.
Every hero has its unique set of skills or traits that differentiate it from others. However, few have managed to climb their way to the top and become the absolute favorites among audiences, and Wanda Maximoff is among them.
The Scarlet Witch first appeared during the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, lived a complicated (and sometimes murderous) life, and sacrificed herself for the greater good in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Now, fans are all wondering the same question: Where will she show up next? Could Vision Quest be the ideal place for her return, given that the series is described as the end of the WandaVision trilogy? Well, we finally have an answer... albeit it might be a disappointing one.
Wanda Maximoff will reportedly not appear in Vision Quest
Insider divinity seeker revealed that the decision not to include Wanda in VisionQuest was taken very early in development. Furthermore, scooper James Mack doubled down on this information while also revealing that—after the upcoming Disney+ series concludes—Vision, Speed, and Wiccan will be set on a mission to find the missing witch.

The information falls in line with a report that claims Wanda and Tom Holland's Spider-Man won't appear in Avengers: Doomsday. After all, if the former were to return to the MCU before Earth's Mightiest Heroes assemble once more, then chances would be that she would also join the ranks to fight Doctor Doom, too. But if the rumors turn out to be true and the Scarlet Witch truly misses out on the upcoming crossover, then it could give us a hint as to what might happen in the movie.
Leaked Avengers: Doomsday concept art revealed that the Young Avengers will finally assemble on the big screen. Interestingly enough, one of the illustrations showcases the team joined by none other than Star-Lord, who is also seen spending time with White Vision in a different art. With that in mind, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to assume that the Young Avengers, Peter Quill, and Vision will all join forces and work towards the same mission: Looking for Wanda Maximoff. This could mimic the arc seen in the Avengers: The Children's Crusade comic book storyline, in which Doctor Doom was also the main antagonist.
The Scarlet Witch is powerful enough to turn the tide in favor of the Avengers just when everything seemed lost during the events of Secret Wars. Besides, it would make sense for her comeback to take place in the biggest, most ambitious MCU movie to date. Watching her reunite with her family (for real, this time around) would make for an unforgettable moment that's definitely deserving of an Avengers movie. Unfortunately, it would also come at the cost of her not appearing in VisionQuest, which may seem odd considering the whole WandaVision trilogy started because of her desire to have a family and live a normal life.
Even if Wanda's fate remains unknown in VisionQuest, and she doesn't directly make an appearance, it doesn't mean the series can't have a few hints about her character here and there. After all, the opening episode of Agatha All Along briefly showed Wanda's deceased body, and she was mentioned multiple times by numerous characters. Her influence will undoubtedly be felt, and with a bit of luck, the series will conclude with a hint as to where she'll appear next.
VisionQuest will be released in 2026 on Disney+.
