Watching Earth's Mightiest Heroes assemble on the big screen usually comes at a price. A lot of excitement surrounds any upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover, and multiple theories surface about who will bite the dust. Phil Coulson, Gamora, Quicksilver, Iron Man, Black Widow, and Vision all met their end during an Avengers movie, and the streak is unlikely to end with Endgame.
Avengers: Doomsday is just around the corner, and even the God of Thunder himself is scared of what's to come, as revealed by the film's trailer. The MCU is about to collide with multiple universes in an apocalyptic-level event known as an incursion, and not everyone will survive to see the dawn of a new day. Fans have wondered whether their favorite characters will manage to survive Doom's upcoming attacks, with the Scarlet Witch being one of the biggest unknowns. After all, she is already supposed to be dead, but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed that we'll see more of her in the future. So, what exactly does the future hold for Wanda Maximoff? While it may be a while until we finally figure it out, a new report points us in the right direction.
Wanda and Vision will reportedly "have a happy ending" when the Multiverse Saga comes to an end
According to industry insider James Mack, the Multiverse Saga—which began with Wanda and Vision's tragic tale—will culminate with the iconic pair having a "happy ending." Unfortunately, no additional details about their arcs were provided, nor was it specified whether they will return for the next MCU chapter. However, it appears neither of them will perish during Avengers: Secret Wars, and instead we'll see them share the screen.
Wanda and Vision haven't really been together since the release of their standalone Disney+ show in 2021. Even then, the advanced android wasn't actually real, but just a mere manifestation of the Scarlet Witch's powers. The iconic couple once shared a happy home and had two kids, but haven't seen each other in over half a decade now. To make matters more complicated, Wanda's whereabouts are still a big mystery, but we could finally learn about her true fate this year with the release of VisionQuest.
The second project in the WandaVision trilogy, Agatha All Along, ended with Wanda's son, Billy Maximoff, embarking on a journey to find his missing brother. Now, we know Tommy Maximoff will have a key role to play during the events of VisionQuest thanks to the show's first trailer. So not only is it reasonable to assume the two brothers will finally reunite later this year, but rumors also suggest this will be the case.
It's hard to imagine a scenario in which Wiccan, Speed, and Vision meet and do not acknowledge Wanda. While it's unlikely that the Scarlet Witch will appear in the show (as such a long-awaited comeback would be best suited for an Avengers movie), maybe we will learn whether she's alive and where exactly she could be hiding. After all, VisionQuest can end in a similar manner to its predecessor by showcasing its titular character teaming up with his two sons to find the missing family member.
Interestingly, it has been hinted that the Scarlet Witch will appear in Avengers: Doomsday, so it will be interesting to see whether the same will hold true for Vision, Wiccan, or Speed. However, one thing seems to be certain: these four characters will meet. And if someone in the MCU deserves a happy ending, it is Wanda herself, so it's nice to know the possibility is definitely on the table.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on Dec. 18, 2026.
