By Bryce Olin
If you were hoping Disney+ would move up the release date and time of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, well, you're in luck!
According to Deadline, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will now premiere on Disney+ at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Dec. 2. The first two episodes of Skeleton Crew will be available to stream on the premiere date, which is another exciting development for Star Wars fans!
Originally, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew was slated to premiere on Wednesday, Dec. 3. We were expecting the new episodes would be released at 12 a.m. PT / 3 a.m. ET, but it's obviously great news that Skeleton Crew is getting the early release date and a primetime release time.
Skeleton Crew release schedule
There are eight episodes in the first season of Skeleton Crew. Again, the first two episodes premiere on Monday, Dec. 2. Then, we'll see one new episode per week on Tuesdays (not Mondays) through the season finale on Tuesday, Jan. 14.

We've seen Disney+ play with release dates and times in the past. We've also seen the streaming service move up the release date and times of its original shows about a week before the premiere. That's what happened last year with Percy Jackson and the Olympians. It's hard to understand why Disney+ releases some titles early while holding others. One thing that seems more standard lately with its big shows is the primetime release. If it's a big Disney+ show, you can basically guarantee that new episodes will be released in that primetime slot.
It'll be really interesting to see how Skeleton Crew is received. It's the first Star Wars show on Disney+ since The Acolyte premiered this summer. It was canceled after one season.
Skeleton Crew stars Jude Law, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, Nick Frost, Kerry Condon, and Tunde Adebimpe. Created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, the series is set around the same time as The Mandalorian.
We shared the synopsis of the series, via Disney+:
"Star Wars: Skeleton Crew follows the journey of four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home—and meeting unlikely allies and enemies—will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined."
Watch the two-episode Skeleton Crew premiere on Monday, Dec. 2 with new episodes coming Tuesday nights throughout the winter!
