We've got some bad news about The Legend of Vox Machina season 4 episode 10

The next three episodes of Prime Video's The Legend of Vox Machina season 4 come with an unfortunate caveat.

It's safe to say that fans have been enjoying the return of The Legend of Vox Machina. The beloved Prime Video animated series made its long-awaited comeback to screens earlier this month with its season 4 premiere, setting the stage for a very new and unique adventure for our favorite not-heroes.

The gang have been enjoying a hiatus from heroics over the course of the time between seasons 3 and 4, with Vox Machina itself even disbanding. However, they were called back to work when a new, greater threat made its presence felt upon the realm, forcing our favorite characters back to doing what they do best - even if they didn't particularly like doing it.

With the fourth season having officially surpassed the halfway mark with the newest batch of episodes, the attention of fans has understandably shifted to the next episodes. Unfortunately, that brings along some bad news.

The Legend of Vox Machina season 4's next episodes are the three-part finale

The Legend of Vox Machina season 4 episode 10, titled "The Poisoned Ear", will be released on Prime Video on Wednesday, June 24, at 3:00 a.m. ET, 12:00 a.m. PT, 1:00 a.m. CT, and 2:00 a.m. MT. You probably already know to expect the episode in that particular timeslot as it is indeed the show's regular release time, and it will release alongside episodes 11 and 12 ("Let the End Begin" and "The Ascension"). Unfortunately, that makes it the first episode of the final batch - meaning that when you consume all three installments next Wednesday, the fourth season is officially over.

Yes, episode 12 is the season 4 finale, so Vox Machina's showdowns with this season's big bads are set to conclude next week. And yes, it does feel oddly quick, but that's simply down to Prime Video's release strategy, which always mows through three Vox Machina episodes at a time - meaning that a relatively long season of 12 episodes can conclude as quickly as three weeks after its debut.

While the streamer often kicks off new seasons of its respective shows with a three-episode premiere, those shows normally revert to the typical one-episode per week release after that. That wasn't the case with The Legend of Vox Machina season 4, resulting in a very quick run for an otherwise long season by today's standards.

The good news is that the adventures are far from over for the chaotic crew, as Prime Video has officially renewed the show for a fifth and final season. The announcement was made last year ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, meaning that the streamer has already had a year to make preparations on it and get production underway. Although there is no official release date as of yet, The Legend of Vox Machina season 5 will be coming our way in the not-too-distant future.

In the meantime, we will sit and prepare for the culmination of a season that has had us on the edges of our seats since it began earlier this month. From the longer-than-expected absence of beloved character Scanlan Shorthalt to the arrival of infamous villain The Whispered One, the fourth season has generated a lot of buzz among fans. And you can bet that it will do it all over again in the upcoming final three episodes of the season.

We're not ready. But then again, we absolutely are!
