The course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was forever changed with the introduction of the Disney Plus series. The heroes and villains we were used to watching on the big screen were suddenly on our very own doorstep. The only problem? The superhero giant has rarely followed up on many of these stories.
Loki and What If...? were fortunate enough to be renewed for a second season (and even a third, in the latter's case). Furthermore, new episodes of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will be released next year. But aside from those few examples? WandaVision, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, and many other TV series have been relegated to one season, and one season only. Even the recently released Ironheart doesn't have a promising future in this regard. So, is any project ever breaking the pattern? Well, why don't we ask the Devil of Hell's Kitchen himself?
Daredevil: Born Again ended on a high note that perfectly set up better things to come. As if that wasn't enough, it was recently confirmed that Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones will be back in the show's second season. But while all eyes are set on what will happen in the next batch of episodes, it seems Marvel might already have plans that stretch beyond that.

The are already plans for Daredevil: Born Again Season 3
During an interview with Awards Buzz, Vincent D'Onofrio revealed that the second season of Daredevil: Born Again won't act as a definite end to Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk's stories. Instead, they already have plans for a potential third season, though that doesn't mean anything's secured yet: "If they allow us to continue, we have a plan. Is up to the fans, you know, to watch and to get excited, and it's up to us to please them and get the story right. But (...) we're looking forward in a big way".
This isn't the first time we've heard about potential plans for a third season of Daredevil: Born Again. During an interview with ScreenRant, the Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel Studios, Brad Winderbaum, revealed that the hope is the series will get annual releases: "Season 2 will come out next year, and then hopefully season 3 and season infinity after that."
While it might be too early to tell what the future has in store for the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, we might have a slight idea of what's coming. Back in April (when it hadn't been officially revealed that Jessica Jones would be making a comeback), renowned industry insider Alex Perez teased that season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again would be all about Matt building "a team", while Fisk makes the point that New York was defensless to The Void threat.
The only line of defense against Bob was the Thunderbolts, who are a group composed of "mercenaries" and "assassins". With that in mind, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to assume he'll use the situation as leverage to further develop his own anti-vigilante task force.
But what about season 3? Well, Alex hinted that it will showcase the Kingpin forming his very own team to combat the Defenders. Now that the former Thunderbolts team has been labeled as the New Avengers, maybe there's a slight chance that the real Thunderbolts can make a big entrance. After all, they have been mostly on the wrong side of history in comic book pages, and Wilson even employed them when he became the Mayor of New York during the events of Devil's Reign. It was them who hunted all heroes in the city, as opposed to corrupt cops.
Regardless of what could happen in a hypothetical third season of Daredevil: Born Again, it's nice to know Marvel is already thinking about it. With a bit of luck, season 2 will surpass the heights reached by its predecessor, and it will green-light even more episodes.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will be released in March 2026.
