If you’re a comic book fan, you have a lot to look forward to in 2025. Marvel Comics’ Ultimate Universe has been publishing great stories, the DC Comics Absolute Universe has been stupendous, and the Energon Universe continues to be elite. There are also stories like I Was A Fashion School Serial Killer.
Those are just the ones that are currently available. There are more comic books coming out in 2025 that you should get pumped for. Here are the top eight.
Imperial War She-Hulk
- Writer: Stephanie Phillips
- Artist: Emilio Laiso
It only makes sense that Stephanie Phillips would bring her talents to a space story starring She-Hulk. She’s been doing an amazing job with her titles Phoenix, Gwen Stacy: The Ghost-Spider, and Red Before Black. The only question now is if Jennifer Walters will run into Jean Grey during Imperial. Gwen Stacy did, why not her?
""She-Hulk's voice just came naturally to me from the first line—she’s so sharp, funny, and confident. It's been incredible getting to bring her story to life as part of IMPERIAL and see what this talented lineup of creators is building together.""Stephanie Phillips
Imperial Black Panther
- Writer: Victor Lavalle and Jonathan Hickman
- Artists: Iban Coello and Federico Vicentini
If you’re going to have a space war, you have to include the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda. And if there’s Wakanda, the Black Panther will be involved. I could say more, but writer Victor Lavalle said it best. “By the time I'm done, T'Challa and Shuri will have constellations named after them, in some distant galaxy.”
Black Cat
- Writer: G. Willow Wilson
- Artist: Gleb Melnikov
There was a reason Marvel Comics fans have seen Felicia Hardy (Black Cat) in comic books other than Spider-Man titles (among them are Scarlet Witch and Avengers). You were being prepped for her solo series by the great G. Willow Wilson (the co-creator of Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel).
Don’t make the mistake this writer did with her Poison Ivy series. Get on this series from the start. There's no way this won't be a banger of a series, leading to more readers respecting her skills and character.
"When are you going to write more Felicia?’ Well, the answer is: right now. Black Cat is so much fun to work with. She’s a supporting character with main character energy. And she has such a rich history that there are tons of tantalizing story threads to pull on."G. Willow Wilson
Shredder
- Writer: Dan Watters
- Artist: Michele Bandini
Writer Dan Watter (Batman: Dark Patterns) is going to remind people why the Shredder should be one of the most feared comic book characters ever. Watters has done phenomenal work showing that with Harvey Dent in Two-Face, and Dent's not as skilled. Imagine what he’ll do with Oroku Saki.
This seems like a series that people have been waiting for, and the right creative team to be put together to make it happen. It should also lead to something with Jason Aaron’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and maybe even the next title.
"The bad guys always have the best stories, and Shredder is no exception. This story is Shredder on a quest of revenge – rejecting the gods and allegiances he’s made over his long and storied history, reminding New York exactly why it feared him so much – and why it should do so again. This is the kind of character I love to write. Driven, ruthless, and crawling his way back to the top with a new purpose. This is going to be a hell of a ride."Dan Watters
Casey Jones
- Writer: Alex Paknadel
- Artist: Amancay Nahuelpan
As this article is being written, Casey Jones is still in the ICU after being shot by the crooked Mayor of New York (and leader of the Foot Clan), Hieronymus Hale (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles No. 5). When the series starts, he’ll be healed up and ready to get back in action.
While this is only a mini-series, its popularity could lead to more. It wouldn’t be the first time a short series turned into something ongoing.
"As a weird British kid who once had the lyrics to ‘Turtle Power’ committed to memory, I feel like life has come full circle"Alex Paknadel
New Avengers/New Thunderbolts
- Writer: Sam Humphries
- Artist: Ton Lima
My favorite Avengers teams are the ones that people wouldn’t think to put together because they lead to unpredictable relationships and moments. For example, all of Luke Cage’s teams, Rogue’s Uncanny Avengers, and the Dark Avengers. This new team is exactly that.
There’s no way this series doesn’t have an issue when Namor, Eddie Brock (Carnage), and Laura (Wolverine) are arguing while Bucky tries to keep his team together. Oh, and then there’s the Hulk, too.
"Plot twist, it's been NEW AVENGERS all along! I promised surprises, and this is the first of many. It's a thrill and an honor to continue the grand New Avengers tradition of team dynamics that are as explosive as the threats. And this era has two combustible teams: the New Avengers and the Killuminati!"Sam Humphries

Wolverines and Deadpools
- Writer: Cody Ziglar
- Artist: Rogê Antônio
Cody Ziglar’s run of Deadpool has continued to make Wade Wilson a fun character while making his daughter, Ellie, an upcoming star. Now he’s writing Wolverines (Logan and Laura) with them? Simply, shut up and take my money!
The best part is that this won’t just be action. Readers can expect a lot of depth with this mini-series. Maybe Ellie and Laura have an ongoing series coming up in the future.
"The past 15 issues I’ve spent writing Wade and Ellie have been a dream come true.... Getting to finish out their journey with two of the coolest mutants is just a cherry on top—I can’t explain just how much I look forward to exploring the father-daughter dynamics with these four!"Cody Ziglar
Bloodletter
- Writers: Joseph Illidge and Tim Seeley
- Artist: Christian Rosado
Admittedly, I don’t know much about Spawn or his universe. Nevertheless, having an ex-CIA agent and mystic going after Spawn is interesting. Is it enough to pull most readers in? Maybe not. However, add the art of Christian Rosado, and that should sell people even more. Who knows? Maybe Spawn has met his match.
"Bloodletter is about our hero, Tasha Thornwall, and how she uses the power of magic and secrets to fight through a world that constantly throws danger from Heaven and Hell at her"Joseph Illidge
