VisionQuest will reportedly bring back a major Marvel character

The two projects released as part of the WandaVision saga have been fantastic, and the trilogy capper is looking to up the ante by featuring this character.

It all started with the death of Vision, an event so tragic that it had a devastating ripple effect in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As a means to cope with her grief, Wanda Maximoff held an entire town hostage and forced them to live out her deepest desires. In this fantasy, the Scarlet Witch lived in a perfect neighborhood and had two kids: Billy and Tommy Maximoff. This dreamland was eventually undone, but the first domino had already fallen.

Wanda's magic attracted Agatha, and Billy eventually reincarnated in a different body. Now, the story that started with Vision's death will conclude with his rebirth. VisionQuest is just around the corner, and it will act as the final entry in the WandaVision saga. As such, fans are eager to discover whether it will feature any surprising cameos from the previous MCU projects that have paved the way up to this point. Fortunately, a long-awaited return might have been revealed ahead of time.

Wiccan will reportedly appear in VisionQuest

According to renowned insider Daniel Richtman, Joe Locke will reprise his role as Wiccan in VisionQuest. The hero's return could open the door for many exciting possibilities. After all, it has been officially confirmed that his brother, Tommy Maximoff, will also be in the upcoming Disney+ series. So, could the two siblings reunite for the first time after the events of WandaVision?

During New York Comic Con 2025, Marvel showcased a private VisionQuest trailer that ended with a first look at Ruaridh Mollica's Speed through a CCTV recording. It's important to remember that the last time we saw Wiccan on the small screen, he embarked on a mission with Agatha to find his missing brother. So the long-awaited reunion might finally come to be. Besides, it wouldn't be surprising if Agatha herself also had a small cameo in VisionQuest. After all, she has been an integral part of the WandaVision saga so far.

It seems VisionQuest could include all three integral members of Wanda's family, so could she make an appearance as well? One of the biggest mysteries in the MCU is the Scarlet Witch's fate. She seemingly died during the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has already confirmed that she will be back. The only question is where and when it will happen.

There's a slight chance Wanda's comeback takes place in VisionQuest. That being said, there's a different scenario that seems all the more likely. Just like Agatha All Along ended with Wiccan and Agatha embarking on a quest to find a missing member of the Maximoff family, perhaps VisionQuest might follow a similar path.

Leaked Avengers: Doomsday concept art showcases Star-Lord spending time with the Young Avengers—an upcoming superteam that includes Wiccan and Speed as members. Incidentally, another piece of art shows Star-Lord and White Vision together. So it seems all of these different heroes will team up and have their own arc in Avengers: Doomsday, possibly looking for the Scarlet Witch. After all, Wanda's return is a big moment that seems better suited for the big screen. Besides, this storyline would somewhat mimic the events of the Avengers: The Children's Crusade comic-book event.

It's worth pointing out that Wiccan isn't the only big Marvel character returning in VisionQuest. James Spader's Ultron will also have a role to play in the upcoming Disney+ adventure, and we'll even get to watch him in his human form (because that's what androids are known for). It will be interesting to see how all of these different characters converge in the same series and how it paves the way for Avengers: Doomsday later in the year.

VisionQuest will be released in 2026.
