It's good that Vision is a synthetic android, because his journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is not for the faint of heart. The iconic hero who was once worthy of lifting Thor's hammer has died twice, lost his children for a moment, and retains the memories of who he once was without being able to connect to them. Being an artificial intelligence brought to life by an Infinity Stone has never been harder, and things are only bound to get more complicated with the release of VisionQuest.
The upcoming Disney+ show will act as the culmination of the WandaVision trilogy—a tale of grief, parenthood, and a little dose of magic that began when Wanda used her powers to will two kids into existence. Unfortunately, her children weren't completely real. Tommy and Billy Maximoff couldn't physically escape the Hex without disappearing entirely. But when the Hex was eventually undone, something unexpected happened.
As revealed by Agatha All Along, Billy Maximoff was reincarnated in a real body and has developed powers of his own. Now, VisionQuest will introduce us to the other side of the coin and mark the debut of a new iteration of Tommy Maximoff. However, Speed, Vision, and Ultron may not be alone, as other characters from the MCU could also join their upcoming adventure.
Billy Maximoff and Agatha will reportedly appear in VisionQuest
According to industry insider James Mack, Wiccan and Agatha will appear in the final episode of VisionQuest. The last time we saw this iconic duo in action was during the finale of Agatha All Along, when they embarked on a mission to find Billy's lost brother, Tommy.
The two installments of the WandaVision trilogy released so far are extremely connected. The Scarlet Witch's TV adventure acted as the foundation for Agatha All Along, especially since it marked the debut of characters like Wiccan and Agatha herself. With that in mind, it isn't far-fetched to assume that a similar scenario should be in store yet again, meaning the storyline explored in Agatha All Along will be expanded in VisionQuest, explaining why there are bound to be returning characters.
This tale began with Wanda Maximoff; she brought back Vision's consciousness, attracted Agatha to Westview, and created Speed and Wiccan. However, the story could culminate without her, as nobody knows what happened to the iconic witch after the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. So, just like Agatha All Along culminated with two WandaVision characters setting out to find the rest of the missing links, perhaps VisionQuest could end with all of the group assembling to find out what exactly happened to the one who started it all: Wanda.
It would be fitting for Speed, Wiccan, and Vision to reunite ahead of Avengers: Doomsday, as leaked Marvel concept art revealed that the three will appear in the upcoming crossover. Furthermore, it has also been rumored that VisionQuest will be the stepping stone to bringing together the MCU's version of the Champions—a group of young heroes who may prove to be instrumental to the franchise's future.
Fans had already theorized that Wiccan and Agatha would have a role to play in VisionQuest, so it's nice to know this will likely be the case. However, it's also important to take into consideration that they will reportedly appear only in the final episode. The rest of the show will likely focus on Vision's personal journey and get us up to date on what Speed has been up to since he was reincarnated in a new body.
It will be interesting to see whether there are any nods to Wanda herself or if she gets to appear in any flashback sequences. But for the time being, it seems the rest of the band is getting back together, and we can't wait to see where the MCU takes them next.
