Where will Din and Grogu find themselves when we meet them again?

What's next for The Mandalorian and Grogu? Is a meeting with the Mythosaur on the cards?

The Mandalorian and Grogu ended on a high, heartwarming note with the duo jetting off into hyperspace after taking care of the Hutt Twins, Embo, and saving Rotta the Hutt. In the movie, Colonel Ward hints that Mando's role in the New Republic goes beyond a simple hired gun. She sees him as someone more than a paid contractor, but Djarin doesn't seem ready to accept how far he's come.

On the other hand, Grogu has grown so strong and competent that he saved his dad from a painful death after the poisonous Dragonsnake bit him. But where will the duo be the next time we meet them in The Mandalorian season 4 or another movie?

When the next chapter begins, Din Djarin's days as a paid contractor will surely be over, and he will have to accept a promotion. Yes, Djarin shies away from leadership, but it seems to find him anyway. He may have rejected the darksaber and a chance to lead Mandalore, but he can't reject a promotion every time. Din is deservedly respected by high-ranking New Republic officials like Colonel Ward, who recognized his unique tactical brilliance. Perhaps Din Djarin will one day be known as Commander Djarin, serving as a bridge between the lawless Outer Rim and the New Republic.

Maybe his growing importance will lead to more demand on Mandalore, and the Armorer may call Djarin to play a more hands-on role in rebuilding the planet. Din Djarin would be the perfect guy to show the galaxy that the modern Mandalorian is a protector fighting for peace, unity, and a better future for the next generation. Din has already shown he can accept people despite their differences. He accepted Bo-Katan as the leader of Mandalore even though she doesn't follow the Creed, and he has adopted Grogu even though he's had Jedi training and belongs to a different, mostly non-verbal species.

As for Grogu, there is only growth and milestones in the future. The movie didn't show him speaking his first words, so that's still something to look forward to for fans who want him to grow faster. It would also be cute if Grogu were shown attending school. The Mandalorian season 2 featured a scene of Grogu in a classroom on Nevarro. Now that he lives there, there is another reason for him to be a student, just like other kids. Classroom scenes with Grogu will surely be a hit with young fans and help sell even more merchandise. There's also a lot of excitement around what his first word will be. Will it be "Dad" or something like "This is the way"?

Ultimately, Din and Grogu's paths are inextricably tied together, and for now, their destinies are linked. Din Djarin was shown tackling a dragonsnake, and Grogu still wears the mythosaur necklace he was given in season 1.

Perhaps the next stop for dad and son includes a confrontation with the Mythosaur underneath the mines of Mandalore. Maybe the duo will herald a new, optimistic, and inclusive age for Mandalore with their shared Mandalorian and Jedi heritage. The Force brought this unlikely duo together for more than one reason, and fans would love to know what it is. The Mandalorian and Grogu is streaming on Disney+.
