If you have been one of the many viewers watching Marvel Television's Agatha All Along, you have likely been very entertained. The series has been nothing short of a joy to watch in the weeks since its debut, bringing back Agatha Harkness and fully introducing the world of witches to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Disney Plus show has tracked Agatha's journey, as she broke free from the spell that the Scarlet Witch trapped her in at the end of WandaVision and attempted to reclaim her power (with the help of Teen). To do that, she had to walk the Witches' Road, assembling her own coven to make it happen. And in the past few weeks, she has been successful in doing so, surviving all of the trials that the Road has thrown her way (even if some of her coven members unfortunately did not).
But Agatha has grown in so many ways, particularly due to her bond with Teen, a.k.a. Billy Maximoff. If you have been enjoying watching that journey, the sad news is that it will be some time before we see Agatha Harkness again.
Agatha All Along only consists of nine episodes
If you were left shocked and stunned by the epic back-to-back eighth and ninth episodes of Agatha All Along, chances are that you might have found your way onto the internet to see if a tenth episode would come next. Unfortunately, that's not happening, at least for now, as both episodes 8 and 9 served as the finale of the series, bringing Agatha's journey on the Witches' Road to a close.
The show only consists of nine episodes. That actually makes it the joint-longest Marvel Studios season (along with WandaVision, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law and both seasons of What If...?), but it probably seems like it has had a shorter run simply because the first two and last two episodes were released together.
While a show like Agatha All Along would certainly have potential for another season, it appears as if Marvel is planning for it to serve as a miniseries instead. The promotion it has been receiving this spooky season has been incredible as the studio is clearly aware that it works as an extended Halloween special event - which is exactly what it has been. That's not to say that it couldn't switch gears and surprise us all with a season 2 announcement at some point, the reason that it likely won't happen is down to the fact that the overarching story is already set to be continued in another project.
Agatha is part of what Marvel views as a three-part story - a trilogy, if you will. It's the second chapter, coming after parent series WandaVision (which also only ran for one season) and it will be succeeded by Vision Quest. As the title suggests, that series is set to bring back Paul Bettany as the White Vision in a show that is rumored to be all about the synthezoid figuring out who he is (now that he has all of his memories back) and tracking down his other son, Tommy Maximoff, a.k.a. Speed.
There have been rumors of an Agatha All Along sequel series focused on Agatha Harkness and Billy Maximoff's mission to track Tommy down, too, but it remains to be seen if that is ever officially announced.
While we will no doubt see some of the characters in Agatha All Along return to the MCU in the near-future, the series itself has come to a close for now. Anything can happen in the MCU (and even more of anything can happen in the Multiverse Saga) but, for now, the acclaimed series has accomplished the mission it set out to achieve.
