Next year is set to be a big one for Secret Wars. Not only will there be an epic looking new series by that name coming by that name, but Marvel is ready to celebrate the original 1984 event in high class style with the Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars: Battleworld Box Set Slipcase.

More from Comics

If you’re a longtime Marvel fan, you’ve probably read about the Beyonder pitting Earth’s heroes and villains against each other to learn the true nature of desire, but never like this. The Secret Wars: Battleworld Box Set not only has the original series in hardcover form, but everything leading up to it and coming after it in their own hardcover volumes (yes, even Secret Wars II). There are 11 volumes in all, packaged in a special slipcase, and Marvel’s even throwing in a new poster by Alex Ross.

“Our Marvel Famous Firsts: 75th Anniversary Masterworks Slipcase Set was a huge hit with fans and retailers, selling out almost instantaneously,” Marvel SVP Sales & Marketing David Gabriel said in a statement. “We knew we had to follow that up with something big. Not only do you get the entire history of Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars along with a complete hardcover jam packed with extras and bonus material, but they are all presented in one of the most stunning packages we’ve ever produced.”

As for a suggested retail price … well, it’s going to set you back a little bit. But for 3,568 pages of comic book history in one awesome box, it might be worth it. Check out the full list of the contents and look for this Secret Wars box set next June.
