When Wizard World took over an existing show to create the inaugural Wizard World Comic Con Albuquerque, one of the interesting things that jumped out at you right away is that it was going to be held June 19-21, the same weekend as another Wizard World event in Sacramento. It was only natural to wonder exactly how that would work.

We found out today that it won’t, because Wizard World Comic Con Albuquerque won’t be held this year after all. Citing both the scheduling conflict and insufficient time to put together the event since it only assumed control of the show last month, Wizard World announced that the show will be rescheduled for June 24-26, 2016.
“Wizard World regrets the inconvenience and looks forward to providing the full Wizard World experience for its Albuquerque show next year,” the company said in a statement. “The company is appreciative of the cooperation of the Albuquerque Convention Center, area hotels and other partners in accommodating the new schedule.”
Anyone who has already purchased admission badges or photo op or autograph tickets will automatically be issued refunds. In addition, those affected by the postponement will receive free admission to the show in 2016.
Wizard World Comic Con Albuquerque is the second Wizard World event to be pushed back to next year. The show originally scheduled for Greenville, South Carolina later this month was postponed due to availability issues with the venue that would have made it a two-day show. That convention will now be held July 15-17, 2016.
