Him?

That’s right, Scott Pilgrim himself, Michael Cera will play the voice of Robin in the standalone LEGO Batman film, according to the Hollywood Reporter! This is, of course, the spinoff from LEGO Movie, not the video game LEGO Batman tie-in we’ve enjoyed in the last few years. That means Cera will team up with his Arrested Development co-star Will Arnett as the new LEGO Dynamic Duo.

"Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the custodians of the Lego screen brand, are producing.Chris McKay, the animation supervisor on Lego Movie, is directing. The script was written by author-screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith.Cera, additionally, has acquired the film rights to Masters of Atlantis, the novel by Charles Portis, the author who also wrote True Grit.Cera aims to write the adaptation as not only an acting vehicle but directing project as well. The humorous Atlantis, published in 1985, was set in the first half of the 20th century and told of a young man that becomes entangled in a quasi-religious cult centered around the lost city of Atlantis named the Gnomon Society.Up next for Cera is a voice-starring role in Sausage Party, Seth Rogen’s animated ensemble set to open August 16. Cera is also writing and starring in Netflix’s revival of Arrested Development."

I think this is a great choice for the role and should add a little more comedy punch for the adults who will inevitably watch the film as well. For more fun LEGO stuff, check out my picture and video coverage of Comic-Con’s LEGO Dimensions live event, featuring Will Arnett as LEGO Batman.
